Crisp, clear, high quality optics.
What a view looking through this monocular. Very high quality optics/lens for the price. Lightweight, I carry this instead of heavier binoculars when I go on long hikes to the deserts or mountains east of San Diego. Highly recommend.

Seems good so far. I’ve compared 8x and 10x
I’m going to be using this on my little outdoor adventures or even watching wildlife in my backyard. The monocular seems to be generally not recommended if you read up on them online. People was say that Binos are better in just about every way. The reason I bought this is that it’s small enough to always be with you and the best optics are going to be the ones that are with you. bought both 8x and 10x solos. I like the belt clip idea. Build quality seems ok, vortex is supposed to have a good warrantee policy. The 8x was very underwhelming. Clear and extremely stead but didn’t get me as close as I wanted. I ordered the 10x and was much more satisfied. It’s ever so slightly more unstable but I can actually see what I want to see. The two pictures of the rose bush are from around 30 ft or so. There’s a very small difference. It’s not until you look at an object farther away that the 10x really starts to shine. I’d actually be interested in a 12x but it seems most major brands don’t make a 12x monocular and most people think 10x is over kill for monoculars. I’m new to this but I’d rather use my naked eye than 8x in my humble opinion. I hardly ever order things to compare and send one back but the 8x will be getting returned this time round.Note* As an added bonus you can flip it around and look into the end backward and use it as a magnifier. I can see the lines of my finger prints in detail like a microscope. Could be handy in the right circumstance!

East to Carry and Top Quality
Great Monocular for when you do not want to carry a full-size set of binoculars around. Well-made and very clear. Easy to carry and great Vortex quality.

Great Little Monocular
This a great little monocular. Even comes in a soft shell, Velcro closure case. Works well, and it’s easy to adjust for your vision. If I could make one request to make it even better, I would like it to come with a soft rubber light shield/eye piece.

Small enough for my range bag.
This monocular is very helpful for my range trips. I was considering taking my pair of binoculars, but they would take up too much space in my range bag. I can quickly check my shot placement downrange. It's durable, and the glass is VERY clear. I highly recommend this product.

A Good Optic
The problem with good binoculars is they are big and heavy and for that reason, I don’t usually have them with me.I bought the 10x36 and the 10x25 to compare. There is a size difference that would matter dependent upon the activity. However, once they are in the fabric case, the size difference is minor. My first comparison was late in the day near dusk and and the 10x36 had a noticeably better image. It wasn’t just brighter, it seemed more vibrant and clear. In sunlight I could not tell the difference between the two. The field of view was nearly the same, I couldn’t tell a difference looking through them. I noticed slightly more chromatic aberration in the 10x36. Looking at a neighbors chiming cap made of galvanized steel, there was a distinct red/orange line along the edge not present in the 10x25. They do take two hands to minimize any vibration at 10x, but the whole point of the optic is to have the magnification…I have an almost 30 year old pair of Steiner 10x28 binoculars, and the Vortex monoculars have better image quality. Compared to promo and cheap Chinese optics, there is no comparison. The difference is exponential. The price seems fair and I’m leaning toward keeping both. 10x36 for the car, and the 10x25 to carry on day hikes.

Nice gift for bird watcher.
Bought it as a gift for a bird watcher and she loves it. She likes that it is smaller and easier to use than full-sized binoculars. She says the view is nice and clear.

Quality less than expected
I purchased the Solo 10x36 hoping it would give me decent image quality. When comparing it to my Canon 10x30 IS binoculars it seems that this is not a true 10x scope but a bit less than 10x. Also there is much less depth of field so it is much harder to get a focused image. I was viewing the super moon this evening and there is a lot of lens flare in the scope where the binoculars have no flare at all. I guess I was expecting more since my use case will be out to about 25 yards but with the limited depth of field this scope will be hard to focus on objects for clear details.
