I received my soft handle crochet hook set today. As you know this is not a very big item. They shipped this item in a box large enough for a full sized Chihuahua to lay in comfortably. I took a picture also. This makes me wonder why the shipping was so ridiculously high. However... i am excite to use my new hooks and not have to worry about my hand cramping.

These are great hooks for this price. They are very comfortable. The handles feel soft. They are a great substitute if you like the clover amour soft grips but cant afford to pay almost the same price per hook. They arrive timely, and packed in a clear plastic case that I use to store them in.Also...Pretty sure these are the same ones being sold as "Crochet Hooks - 9pcs Crochet Hook Set,Ergonomic Grip,Crochet Hook,Mom Gifts,Best Crochet Hook,Best Friend Gifts,With Plastic Crochet Hook Organizer,Sharp Crochet Hook,Aluminum Crochet Hook Set,Crochet hooks Ergonomic" for 18.95 with 200+ positive reviews.Edit: When I purchased my set, they were around 11.00. I did not get the cute pink carry case. I am not sure that is worth a 9.00 price increase or not considering similar cases can be found for less. How disappointing.Another thing I wanted to mention was from another poster who mentioned that the hooks are shorter than other sets; they are shorter than some other sets, and it doesn't bother me enough to care. I crochet baskets using these hooks and two strands of Redheart yarn just fine. Like with anything else, it is a matter of personal preference.

I think for the price I paid, twelve dollars, this crochet set with the case is definitely worth buying! Especially if you cannot afford the Amour set. Are these comparable in quality to the Clover Amour hooks? No. I now own both sets and can honestly say there is no comparison in quality. However, this set will give you a good idea if this style of crochet hook will work for you, but the Amour set is much more refined.Clover Amour:The hooks are as smooth as silk with a satin aluminum finish.There are no seams on the handles.They have the letter and MM sizes listed on the handle.They are 14cm long (5 5/8").I did not buy them with a case because I wanted a case to carry accessories as well (Lihit Lab Teffa Pen Case - Book Style - Orange). This case is fabulous for crochet hooks and accessories.Cutehill Crochet Hook Set w/ Case:The hooks are a polished metal but not that smooth. I actually had to file down a sharp edge that would have cut me had I not discovered it. This was only on one of the hooks.There is a seam on both sides of the rubber grip handle and not quite as smooth as the Clovers. Depending on your grip will this be an issue.They only list the MM for the size and not the letter. (Not a big deal to me).The handles are also a little fatter than the Clover Amour handles.Some of the hooks have left over rubber going up the hook from the mold.These hooks measure 5 3/8" or 13.6cm approx. a little shorter than the Clover.The case is definitely a bonus. So nice to have your hooks in one place.The extra accessories are a bonus also if you plan on using them.(The pictures show the Clover Armour on the left and the Cutehill on the right.)(The hooks in the orange case are the Clovers)All in all for this price point, they are certainly worth it. They would also make a great gift for a beginner.But, if you can afford the Clover Amour, there is no comparison in quality.I didn't take away stars for the quality of these hooks because not everyone can afford or wants to spend the money on Clover Amour hooks.

Never got the case just the hooks I received

I think these are great. I crochet a lot and these seem to be perfect for me. My hand doesn't seem to cramp up as bad with these as it does with the ones without the cushion on it. Everyone had their preferences and I would recommend these. The only thing I don't like is you can't fit as much yarn on the hook. Other than that I say these are pretty good.

This is a pretty nice set. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is because like another customer said the hook part is a bit short. The case they come in is pretty but flimsy. The plastic needles break easily. I do like the comfort grip on the hooks, and for most projects this hook will be fine. It isn't suitable for large projects

I got this set of hooks before investing in something more expensive. These hooks are really great though. Comfy handle and the yarn moves smoothly. If you don't want to drop $80 on a Clover or Tulip set these are a great alternative. Mine only came with the hooks though so read the details, do not let the pictures deceive you.
