Get a 1" dowel and FLUTE THE ENDS
These are fantastic— a beautiful, artistic alternative to the same old boring assembly line curtain rods, but this IS a craft project.I've seen a lot of folks' reviews complaining it's either too big or too small for their dowel rods, HOWEVER there's a really simple solution:1. Purchase 1" dowel rods—be sure to get one long enough for a few extra inches on either side of your window.2. Take a toothy pair of pliers and use them to "flute" the ends of the dowel rod—basically creating some grooves around the ends where it goes into the finials.See photos.I used an adjustable pair of pliers, "channel locks" with a slightly wider setting.With the ends fluted, a little twist and a push and they fit nice and snug. Mine didn't even need glue (Yay, me!).So basically if you're prepared to craft (you know, like the name said "Artisan's Craft") them it's a five star product. 100% love it. (And yes, some instructions would have helped a little)But if you're not up for just a tiny bit of crafting, hey, that's totally okay. But may not enjoy these quite as much.

Beautiful and elegant. Fit perfectly on my 1" curtain rods.
Wanted this to match the other wood I have in my living room and they look great. They fit perfectly on my 1" curtain rods and totally complete the look of the room. Couldn't be happier!

Pricey, yet they breaks easily
They are beautiful, the colours are lovely on this but the darker and lighter wood are glued together. I bought two pairs for my bedroom and I've already had to fix 3 out of the four because they literally fell apart

One Fixable Flaw
The wooden rod holders are beautiful and well made. I think they look great. BUT DO THIS BEFORE YOU INSTALL. The screws the come with it are not very long. The first time I hung them up, they fell within a day. The screw didn’t go deep enough into the dry wall and didn’t make it into the stud. Go buy a longer screw!!!!!
