Dekoni AudioElite Sheepskin Leather Ear Pads for Beyerdynamic DT Series Headhones

Finally the search is over.
I bought these to fit my DT990, perfect fit.Firstly when it comes to the comfort they are soft and squishy and feel great.Secondly when it comes to the sound it does in fact give you more bass.Notes: If you are thinking of buying these don't hesitate its the one's you have been searching for. I have bought numerous replacements pads for my DT990 and they have all stated that they are soft and comfortable and they have not been, I can finally say that the Dekoni Audio Elite Sheepskin Leather Ear Pads are what they say they are and so they should be for the price :D

Fantastic ! ------- bought these for my 1990 pro's ------- so glad I did , improved these fantastic headphones in all areas to my ears. The bass is now beyond excellent, mids are creamy smooth and the highs have been calmed down a tad.Woohoo comfortable, these pads are expensive, but a must have in my humble opinion.

Dekoni. Sound impressions below
Nothing to knock at about feel and quality. It's decisively Dekoni.Sound change on DT 1990 PRO:-bass presence is better, significantly more energy-bass extension is worse (lower volume for SUB-bass)-mids are more present but now much less clear-treble detail and presence is much worse-soundstage is wider but less depth forward and back

Excellent, easy to install, improves bass
These are great replacement pads for the DT770, DT880, DT990, Custom One Pro, and any similar sized pair of headphones. The leather is soft and feels great against the skin. Though the price isn't cheap, these pads are made well, and extremely comfortable. Best of all, they improved the sound of my DT770.InstallationThese particular Dekoni Elite Lambskin pads fit the Beyerdynamic DT series as well as the Custom One Pro. I have both the DT770 32 Ohm and the Custom One Pro headphones - these pads fit easily over them. In fact, they are much easier to get into place than the pads that come with the headphones. Like the stock pads, these pads have a lip around them that fit over the outside edge of the headphone cups. But unlike the stock pads, the lip on these is larger and easier to pull around the earcups than the stock pads. So as a result, installing these onto the headphones takes a lot less time and effort.ComfortOf course the most important aspect of any pair pads is comfort. I've had these Dekoni Elite pads on for hours without any issues of soreness or pressure. As far as heat goes - my ears do get a little hot I will admit - but not anymore than they did with the stock pads - and even that wasn't much. Also, since these are leather - they do not "absorb" sweat or moisture like fabric pads do. The pads fit around my ears, and not on them (like the stock pads). So my ears are never sore from any pressure the pads apply. Lastly, the memory foam is very soft and comfortable. They are like big pillows around my ears. These pads are definitely a step-up from the stock pads in every way.SoundThe bass response improves with these pads on - probably because they insulate better than the stock pads. In the case of the Custom One Pro, the bass becomes slightly more boomy. While this was initially impressive; I didn't keep the pads on the Custom One Pros for long. Those headphones are already bass-heavy - no need to add more. When these pads were installed on the DT770, the bass response is improved, and the treble was slightly rolled off. This is actually what I wanted - because I felt that the DT770 lacked a bit of bass to begin with, and the treble could sometimes be a bit harsh (a well-known attribute of the DT770). So for me, the DT770's sound improved enough that I would call this a worthwhile purchase. (I will admit that I still run my DT770 through a headphone amp and DAC to further imrpove the sound.)ConclusionIf you have a DT770 (or any headphone that fits), and you want to improve the bass response - get these Dekoni Elite Lambskin pads. They are easy to install, feel great, and the materials are top notch. They are also much easier to install than the stock pads - and will likely last longer.

I recommend trying these.
Pads themselves are made out of very nice material which feels great on your head. These fit my DT 770 Pro 80Ohm and installation was as simple and easy as one could ask for. They preserve a great sound and increase the bass response on the headphones which I did enjoy. Unfortunately, I had to revert back to the stock pads due to comfort issues. The inner cavity on these is smaller than the stock velour pads. Maybe my ears are larger than the standard ears but I had the top and lower portions of my ear touching the inner cavity and it caused my ears to almost bend inward a bit which after a while would feel very uncomfortable. Additionally, I bought them because I hoped they would isolate noise better than the velour pads (I use them in an office environment and sometimes love to crank my music UP UP UP!). Unfortunately, the isolation remained roughly the same.. maybe a 5% isolation increase which wasn't very noticeable to me or my partner. In the end, I find the velour pads to be much more comfortable (at least for my ears) and the sound remains awesome with either pad you go with. I recommend trying them, just mind that one size does not fit all. I wear headphones for hours at a time and comfort to me is an extremely important point.

Really really great with the DT770s with 1 slight problem
I actually really like these overall. The velour on the DT770s is really good by itself already, but these are a definite improvement. The trouble with the original Beyer pads is that they are quite thin and hold the drivers very close to your ears. This overall has the effect of magnifying the treble harshness of the DT770s, which can be unpleasant. These dekoni pads feel quite luxurious and help attenuate some of that treble while maintaining good bass and soundstage and the response characteristics of the DT770s. However, they do take a small hit from the stock pads in the comfort department. The stock pads completely encapsulate my ears without touching them, these are barely large enough to surround my whole ear and people with larger ears may find this uncomfortable. I really like them overall but it would be unfair to the rest of you to not at least bring it up at the ear opening is smaller than on stock.

High quality
In custom studio 80s gives a relatively small passive low mid bass boost without distorting the response too much. Ups the comfort and look of the headphone significantly in my opinion. Preserves the rest of the sound signature.DT 1990: I was pleasently surprised. These pair well with DT 1990s in comfort and sound. It's similar to the dekoni hybrid except preserves the highs better. The hybrids make the the 1990s a tad laid back whereas these do that, except less. I also suspect they preserve the sound-stage a little better. Probably because they retain the brightness. They are also a little bit more comfy. They are probably tied with the analytical stock pads in comfort whereas the hybrids are in between the analytical and balanced pads. That said, I'm not sure I like these better than the hybrids sound wise. They change less though, and are super comfy. Not a bad buy if you have big ears and find the stock analyticals too shallow.

Dekoni, an excellent surprise.
I took a chance on these pads with my Beyerdynamic T70 phones and I am pleased that they fit well. The stock pads are velour, quite thin and don't provide a good seal on my head. Conversely, the Dekoni pads are soft leather, quite thick and provide a great seal. They have improved the comfort level of the T70 by leaps and bounds. I have also noticed a distinct increase in bass which is exactly what I wanted from the T70. I spent a fair amount of time reading forums and stumbled on Dekoni despite several Google searches (what's up w/ that?). So, if you've found this review you're in luck. You'll be happy with this mod.

Wish I got these years ago!
I honestly dont have a single bad thing to say about these pads. They are SO comfortable, especially after being worn for a little while and they warm up. They're super super soft to the touch. I have an allergy to a chemical commonly used in fake or cheap leather and I dont react to these at all! They added a surprising amount of bass and low end to my headphones that I wasnt expecting either. I am blown away and will likely buy a second pair to put on my other headphones or just to keep as a spare in case I somehow wear these out.TLDR: Highly recommend! WELL worth the cost!

Exceptional pads and even better customer service
Extremely beautiful, comfortable and high quality product. Mine arrived with a slight tare in the inner lining stitching and the company sent me a new pair right away. That is extremely rare these days that you find a company who stands behind its products and sales and takes care of it's customers. I will be a customer for life now. Exceptional company and customer service right here. Besides the very rare incident that happened in the defective pair I got these pads are extremely nice. I mean the best out there. I love them.

A great improvement to my Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless Headphones
After reading several comments on audio forums about these pads helping to improve the bass response of the Amiron wireless headphones I thought I'd give them a try. While I did enjoy the sound with the stock pads the Dekonis provided a measurable improvement in the low end as they are a bit thicker and increase the clamping ever so slightly. They are comfortable and fit well. An added benefit for me was with the added depth my ears no longer touch the inside of the headphones which provided added comfort.Installation is easiest if you remove the old pads along with the plastic snap in retaining ring. It's much easier to install the new pads on the ring when it's removed first.Give them a try if you have this headphone, it's well worth the money.

First Class Ear Pads By Dekoni!!
Excellent ear pads! Super comfortable. A total upgrade to the stock leatherette/pleather ear pads! You put these on differently than the stock pads. Instead of inserting and rotating through the slit, you just wrap these over and around the entire base of the ear cup. I actually prefer the stock way of installing them b/c it's actually easier, but this is still fine too I guess.I used these on my Beyerdynamic DT-1770 Pro headphones, and they fit very well!Very pleased! Highly recommended!!

Worth the money and very pleased!
So I'm a 6'2, 220 pound guy and I've had no issue with the comfort of these - my ears are larger but haven't had a problem. The inner cavity is smaller but it's hardly noticable. The installation really wasn't that difficult but does take a bit of patience and it's definitely on when it's on. The bass is definitely improved and if you sweat, these are so easy to wipe off than the velour pads the 770 comes with. These are very comfortable, sure they get a little warm but that's the nature of the material and I'm sure we are all aware of the heat associated with pleather pads. I'm very happy with them and they are worth the money!

I didn't like them at first
I didn't like them at first. I adjusted my headband and they are supper comfortable now. I wish the stock pads were this thick.

Well worth it
Just added these to my 1770s. They’re thicker IRL and are definitely more comfortable than the stock pads. Bass is more noticeable, too, which I like. Put another way, the stock pads felt kinda scratchy on my skin after a while, and the high end was a bit too piercing on some tracks. These make them feel more like my Bose QC II in terms of comfort and noise cancellation, and improve the experience of already awesome cans.

These pads blew me away.
I got these for my DT 770 pros. I had some money to burn and wanted to try them out since I wear headphones for most of the day. These pads blew me away. I was not expecting this level of comfort even though they cost me 60 dollars. With these Dekoni ear pads you certainly get what you pay for, they are way more comfortable than the Beyerdynamic velour pads.

Amazing look and feel, plus boosts bass.
The Look and Feel: These pads look expensive, with the soft, smooth, slightly greasy feeling sheepskin leather. Like an expensive leather sofa for your ears. Very high quality build, with black stitching, and a black cloth sewn to cover the hole. It looks blue in the picture but it is black. The Sound: These pads have very thick memory foam. This foam plus the thick leather provides excellent sound isolation. This causes a very noticeable boost to the bass on my DT 770 Pro.
