Volcano Dust 1 - Smoked Habanero and Red Pepper - Hot

I hate habanero flavor. The heat is just perfect, but the flavor is - well - habanero. I thought the fact it was smoked would change it for the better. It made it worse, if anything. It rather tastes and smells like garbage wrapped in a dirty sock to me. I don't like the flavor, and just can't get used to it. But, I've used most of the sample-sized jar, because the heat is just right. Ghost peppers are too much, jalapenos too little. I suppose I could blend ghost pepper powder with chipotle powder to get the same [heat] result, but I was hoping for a simple solution.I just don't like the taste of habanero, I guess. I suspect I am not alone. Smoking them doesn't help.

I've been a fan of "Volcanic Peppers" ever since I came across and tried their "Tim's 10 Pepper Flake", which I was running low on. Decided to try one of their other varieties while I'm deployed. This shipped to APO much faster than expected. I've been using it to spice up the crappy chow hall food on my deployment, it's made it much more enjoyable.

I want to try the others they make.

Hardly any smokey scent and spiciness to it. Not worth the $7.99 and I purchased two 3/4oz containers.Very dissatisfied.

I'm glad I bought one of the larger 3oz bottles too... one for home and one for work. If you've never tried smoked habenero, it's time you try it.
