I purchased the almond honey off of a recommendation from a good friend. Tastes simple and good. Not too sugary like most bars on the market which is what I love about it. The texture is not crunchy or grainy. It's more like a nugget, though you can subtly taste the whey protein. I absolutely love everything about rise bars--however, their products from Amazon are inconsistent. I've gotten good boxes filled with moist and perfectly sized bars that taste great and as they should, and I've also gotten bad boxes with hard, stale and Incorrectly sized bars. I'm only leaving this semi-negative comment because I love rise bars and would love to see them take constructive criticism and improve their products.Update: I just bought another box and this time THE BARS WERE SO OILY THAT IT SEEPED OUT OF THE PLASTIC WRAPPERS AND SOAKED THE CARDBOARD PACKING BOX AS WELL. NOT EDIBLE--I FELT LIKE I WAS DRINKING A BOTTLE OF OIL.

First off, of the total of 2 orders of RiseBar almond protein bars that I've had, I have not had 1 dry or old tasting bar at all.I've been looking for a protein bar that is really healthy, clean and doesn't taste like saw dust for awhile now. I've tried various ones at health food stores including main stream health bars like Cliff and quest, I've gotten assortment packs in order to try out different companies flavors, by the way I highly recommend doing this, you never know what the taste is going to be with a protein bar. Always good to have variety to choose from.I got the assortment Risebar pack with the protein almond, the coconut energy, and assorted nut energy bar, both of the last two were actually kinda gross, so I would not recommend them.Now what this bar fulfills is important to me, I am one of those people who has those spells of walking around and having no idea what I'm hungry for, but I still want to ravenously eat things. This is a very bad thing to have when trying to eat healthy. Anyways, so that and a desire to start building muscle is why I started looking into various protein bars. This one hands down has fulfilled that insatiable hunger that I get sometimes, and it also(to me and everyone I have had try it, like 7 people) tastes pretty dang good. I'm not huge into eating the same foods over and over again, but I have to say TRY this once if you are someone who can never get full and just test it, you will soon learn what I'm talking about.In conclusion, I like that this bar is so simple, 3 ingredients is pretty simple for today's standards, and that helps me understand mentally exactly what I'm putting in my body. When searching for protein bars we sampled about 8 different brands and eventually this settled in as my favorite. The taste is actually very good for this product category and the lack of aftertaste and visual appeal is among the best. Some of my negatives may be isolated to the particular box or batch we obtained from Amazon.Pros:Good tasteGreat for long distance running snackLow sugar / high protein ratioNo aftertasteNo melting coatingVisually appealing (relative to other brands)Negatives:Can be a bit firm on cold daysPackage can be slippery to handle / difficult to open and keep packaging intact during exercise (I don't consume the whole bar at once, but take a small bite every 15 minutes or so on multi-hour runs)Leaky packaging? - Don't know if this is one leaky bar in a case or if some oils in produce may seep through packaging. Could be age or storage related, but found no residue in box, but bars seemed 'oiling' on the outside of package. No visual evidence and not isolated to a single bar or spot on packaging.

Just ordered a second box. The snicker doodle flavor is now a favorite in our house. The taste is good and the texture is also good--not as oily on the surface from the nuts as other Rise flavors. These are dense and I like that since you do not want to eat them too quickly. Very much appreciate that it has a lot of protein in one bar with real, simple ingredients. My teen is a high school athlete and I feel comfortable putting these in his sports bag for a much needed, immediate snack after a practice or a game. Appreciate that these are gluten free and peanut free. That combination is often hard to find. I eat them as part of a meal on the run with a piece or two of fruit.

Bars are smaller than the stated weight. I noticed the smaller size in the last box. I own a gram scale, the bars are 48 grams NOT 55! This is considered consumer fraud, I will be canceling this product.

unfortunately, the bars I order from Amazon are NOT FRESH. I've been ordering them direct from the manufacturer and they are soft and delicious. I think you need to do something about the length of time these remain on the shelf at your warehouse, or you need to have them shipped directly from the manufacturer in Irvine, CA.
