I’ve been using these calculators for over 10 years and I’m rough on them. They hold up and are great!

Canon LS555H Mini Folding Calculator
Product description says it all and was able to get a zoomed-in look at this little guy. This is a handy little gadget as well as a high-quality product from Canon. Conveniently small enough to slip into my pants pockets and easily retrievable whenever I need it while at work. The reactions of my co-workers about the LS555H are pretty much all the same; they all think it's a cool little device they wish they had as well. The buttons are spaced out enough to avoid punching unwanted ones simultaneously whether you have normal-sized fingers or fat fingers. Also, I love the large digit display which IMO is the best thing about it. Don't know about overall durability......in other words don't try to purposely slam it down on the floor or step on it with all your weight to see if it doesn't break. All in all, a great product not to be missed for those needing a "basic" function calculator.

Small and portable
I purchased the Canon LS-555H calculator because I wanted a small calculator for traveling. For me, it's an ideal size for slipping into my purse or pocket at 4 1/4 inches long and 2 1/2 inches deep with the lid closed. It has a nice secure "clicking" sound when shut it so you know it's closed. The buttons are easy to push and the number viewing screen is a nice size at 3 by 1 inches. The booklet that came with it states: "The calculator comes with a dual powered source, either solar or alkaline battery. Generally under normal room lighting the calculator is powered by a built in solar cell. The alkaline batteries can be used for quite a long time depending on individual usage. When the battery is dead, you can still use the solar cell to power the calculator." The only disappointment I have so far is the hinge does not have any tension in it. It's either open and laying flat or shut. My previous calculator, the Aurora HC127, could be propped open at an angle for easier viewing. However the Aurora is no longer available so I switched to this Canon model.

Love this easy pocket calculator, I used to have one when I was a kid, and basically that’s why I purchased it, I really like it and works well just as a calculator, good for the price!

Good, Small Personal Calculator
I bought one of these calculators years ago when it had a leatherette cover. It was only a solar unit back then, so the fact that this works on battery and solar was a definite plus. But, the main reason why I bought it was to replace another calculator bought at a big-box retailer. Why? The keys were too small ... which I didn't even consider before buying the Casio ... but after making tons of mistakes or having to watch myself press every key to ensure I didn't make a mistake, that got old very quickly and I ordered the Canon LS-555H pocket calculator. After using this calculator for a while, I am disappointed in design changes such as: the case is hard plastic rather than the leatherette cover it used to have which made it feel more expensive and kept it from sliding off other things; the "locking" mechanism that keeps it closed can stick and be hard to unlock; the keys no longer have the "rubbery" texture to make the calculator keys feel more secure and keep your fingers from slipping off the keys. While the plastic case would make it easier to slip into/out of a pocket, I valued the leather feel more.

The quality and construction of this calculator is impressive and they are solid and an excellent product for those who need to or want to carry a calculator in their pocket. It has both an On and an Off button and the display is very large and CRISP and easy to read. It can lay flat on a desk or you can hold it in your hand. When closed, it's about 2.5 inches wide and about 5 inches long by 3/8th inches thick and it's very light. It's similar in size to an iPhone 5 ( less the weight ) when its in your pocket . Sorry girls but its unfortunately not purple like the colours shown in the photo. Its actually black with grey accents with two buttons that are an off red colour. If you go to " You Tube " and type in Canon LS-555H you can watch a comparison video that some one has made of two similar calculators that shows the actual colours of this calculator. I ordered 2 of these for my two grandsons who are in high school from BIC on Amazon.ca. They were $20. each with the tax and were duty free ( as stated ) and arrived in my mail box in about a week by Canada Post mail delivery. You will not be disappointed with this purchase it's a Quality Well Made Calculator and I recommend this product to all.
