Triple 8 Brainsaver Helmet with EPS (Switzer Orange, X-Small/Small)

Bought this for my daughter's fourth birthday. I got the Extra-Small/Small helmet. However, she's a little on the petite side so I had to add a couple pads from a cheapo bike helmet that someone had given her. That's in addition to the pads already included with this helmet. The helmet fits snugly now, and doesn't move even when she moves her head quickly.I bought her this particular helmet as her favourite colour is orange, and I didn't want to settle for a less protective helmet given her interests. She loves it so much that she needs no reminding to wear it while on her scooter, her balance bike, or her skateboard! Bear in mind though that part of the design on the helmet is a whole pig stuck on the tines of a fork, so maybe choose a different design if that makes you uncomfortable.The package arrived promptly, and the helmet was in pristine condition. The included adjustment instructions were clear and easy to follow. The pictures and description in the listing are spot-on. I like that even though the helmet is for small heads, the straps are long enough that there are a few inches of extra strap. With the cheapo helmet she had been given, the strap was barely long enough to meet at her chin, which made it loosen very easily.The imp hasn't had a crash yet since receiving this helmet so I can't vouch for its durability. It does feel substantial and robust. Unfortunately, she faceplanted while out with grandma a couple days before the helmet arrived, so the poor girl got a massive goose egg that could have been prevented with proper protection.

Awesome helmet. Had an accident recently where I broke my arm falling off my skateboard at 30mph into concrete. My head struck the concrete at the same time as my arm, but the helmet saved my head. Hit my head pretty hard too. What a great helmet! It would've been a different story without it.

We bought this for my granddaughter to do roller skating and bicycle riding. Absolutely fab product was very pleased with it.

Bonito aunque un poco caro

We have had this helmet for almost 5 years now. When I first bought it, my kid’s head circumference was within the range of the XS/S. Now, 5 years later, his head circumference is still within the range. However, this helmet does not fit him. No matter how we adjust the straps, the front of the helmet always sits at least 1-2” behind his hairline. It does not stay “2 finger widths above his nose” as is recommended for proper fit. What good is a helmet that doesn’t fit?

This helmet is worth the money. Custom fit, amazing selection of colors, and just seems like it will last a long time.When my daughter got her balance bike, we did the responsible thing and got a helmet for her. Unfortunately, we felt less responsible when we didn't justify getting a new one after the dial-fit head band became loose. It was a hazard and we tried not to acknowledge it. Our little one thankfully (and I say thankfully with hesitation and embarrassment) did not want to ride her bike that often, perhaps due to the poorly fitting helmet.After finally doing my diligent research, I went with Triple Eight. It was hard to justify the expense without being able to find one in a store, but I was very happy with it. My daughter is 4, average sized, and we use the extra thick padding to get that perfect custom fit. I saw some people say it was too big or too small for their child, but it's just going to depend on shape and size. But I think this helmet does everything possible to give the best fit possible.I will also add that the gold sparkle color that my daughter refused to change her mind about, was worth the extra few dollars. The coating is solid, no glitter coming off, and I am confident that it will last a few years with the quality and size adjustments.My daughter says, "I love my helmet. It protects my head!"My only issue with this helmet is that I don't have one yet! Here's hoping for a sale or coupon, or just being smart and getting a good product in the future instead of other junk I don't actually need.

We got this helmet in slate blue for my son for his 4th birthday. He is now almost 7 years old and by removing the thicker pads, it still fits comfortably. We just ordered a second helmet for our daughter.These helmets are great. They are fairly light-weight and very comfortable. This helmet is designed to be able to withstand multiple falls so it's great for kids who are learning to skateboard and who occasionally drop things. My son prefers this helmet to the traditional bike helmet with the slots in the sides. Not quite sure why but the strap is much more comfortable while still keeping the helmet from slopping around on his head. Also, I really like the fact that the back of the helmet comes down lower than a bike helmet which makes it a great multi-purpose solution since it is good for road biking, mountain biking, BMX and skateboarding.It is worth mentioning that it's not really a good loaner helmet. We were camping this weekend with friends and because of how it is designed, my son was the only one for whom it fit properly. Again, I think that is because of the design of how the pads and the strap work together.

I'm accustomed to bike helmets and was surprised how much clunkier the fit was with this type of design (no adjustment at back of head to fine-tune fit). I measured my 8-year-old's head, and thought the small would work out since he was within the recommended dimensions. The only way we could get it to stay on and not flop back was to make it exceedingly tight on his neck. It just didn't want to stay in a position where it wasn't tipping back no matter how we tweaked the pads and straps. A smaller size may have helped, but he preferred sticking with his lighter and more adjustable bike helmet for now. I'm sure style will win out one of these years for him, and then maybe we'll try a different size. :0

We have tried numerous helmets for my 4.5 year old, and only this brand seems to fit his dome well. He has a rather “deep” head, and unlike other helmets that just sat on the top of his head, this actually encases it.

I love this helmet. It is comfortable and fits well. I have had it for over a year and wear it every day on my bicycle commute.To get the appropriate fit, I use the additional padding that comes with the helmet. In the winter, I remove that padding and wear a winter hat for extra warmth.Fortunately, I have not had any crashes and have no experiencing in assessing its ability to protect in a crash.

Yah If you plan on wearing a beanie or a hat you better get a size up from what you are or if you have a big head like me go for the largest possible.Helmet has a nice bright orange.Helmet is also designed to fit and the padding is alright not soft but not crap the side pads are better than the pad on top of your head.I chose this helmet on purpose for visibility and the style and the size so i can wear a beanie or some kind of hat.

Fits great, looks great, is surprisingly comfortable once I figured out the chin strap.I know, the real test of this thing is how it handles a hard spill. Well, hasn't happened yet, but I promise, if it ever does, and I survive, I'll update this review.

The color is vibrant and it fits well on my 2.5 year old. It must be comfortable since she asks to wear it all the time! I also love that it doesn't look like those cheesy bike helmets and it's more affordable than similar styles. Thanks!
