It works great.Very important to follow directions. I left it on 10 min, used the Olive Oil neutralizer shampoo and their replenishing conditioner. It is much stronger than the regular kits sold in local stores.If doing a touchup, be sure to only apply to new growth. I had no burns.I recommend this product.

I disliked the price being too high

This product smells bad. Also, it does not work as described.The instructions say to leave it in your hair for up to 20 minutes. It didn't do anything. I had to leave it in my hair for over an hour to get any relaxing of my hair.As an older white male with mostly grey hair, the persistent wave just would not relax. It mostly but not completely relaxed after the long treatment. However the portion of my hair that was still somewhat black turned yellowish.I should also mention that the instructions are wordy and not clear.I found this product to be sub-standard and not worth buying. Don't get stuck with it like I did. Just don't buy it in the first place.

This relaxer is the best value you can get. What's good about this is that it's a one step process. Just apply and leave on for about 10 minutes, I have regular/fine curly hair (I'm mixed race). More or less time depending on your hair type. This will not damage your hair as long as know what you're doing. The people who left 1 start reviews most likely did it wrong. Read the directions, do not leave the product on too long, do not apply it directly to your scalp. Apply about 1/4-1/2 inch away from scalp. After you rinse out the relaxer apply a neutralizing shampoo or conditioner. I use Linange Neutralizing Conditioner for 5 minutes. The whole process is quick and easy, leaves my hair very smooth and manageable, and most importantly, has not caused damage to my hair or scalp.

If you want extra strength, pick a different listing. If you look at the photo, it's a jar of normal strength relaxer. Since the listing says extra strength, I assumed that they just used the normal strength picture because the jars look the same and I ordered it anyway. I was disappointed when my order was delivered and it was indeed normal strength. With that said, I feel that the normal strength actually does work the best for me because it gives me the texlaxed result that I want without my scalp burning or my hair being damaged. I don't worry about taking too long to apply the normal strength because my hair is generally course and I needed extra strength when I did no-lye relaxers years ago. I will suggest though to not put leftover product back into the jar. Just try to put what you need for your application into a glass bowl and throw away any product left over in the bowl. I made the mistake of putting my unused portion back in the jar and when I opened the jar the very next day, the jar had a very strong chemical smell and it almost looked like the cream had a slight pink color to it. In my experience this product doesn't have a smell and it's very white. I still had enough cream for at least 3 touch-up applications that I had to throw away because I don't want to take the risk now.

I've been using this relaxer for about 3 to 4'ish years, after switching from their no-lye formula. I will say my hair is softer compared to the no lye (since i no longer have to deal with calcium build up no -lye relaxers are known for) and my hair comes out soft and perfectly straight to my liking. When i used no-lye kits I would have to buy atleast two boxes to make sure all my new growth was covered. (thick hair problems amiright?)Pro-tip to anyone switching fomr the no-lye formula to this lye versionThis relaxer is really (and I mean really) thick compared to the box no-lye kit. so I suggest from my own experience is to either go to a stylist and have it put in, or have a friend/family member to put it in for you. cause at first it can be a bit overwhelming and take a bit more time to put in vs no-lye box kits.

I don't relax every 4 -8 weeks but, I stretch my relaxers to 12-14 weeks. I decided to no longer use no-lye relaxers and this is a good lye relaxer. It does the job with relaxing your new growth. One jar will last me close to a year since, I only relax my new growth.

A nice hair product worth trying.

Dries my 4c high porosity hair out but it is a relaxer and that's what they do. Doesn't make my hair bone straight which isn't good for me. My hair cannot abide two textures therefore I get demarcation line breakage and remember it's all dried out....I have to do more DC-ing and definetly an aphogee protein treatment when I use this moreso because of my hair than the product. But my hair should get straighter with it, that's why only 3 stars.
