I went though a lot of these vacuum sealers after my entry level machine broke. I forgot the name but you know the ones you can buy at any target, Walmart. The broken one was good and lasted but I wanted to upgrade to something more powerful. The problem I was having was the strongest motor vacuum sealers i tried were loud. This is a serious vacuum sealers and apart from a few slight things that I wish this had it was by far the best one I tried.The downside aspects for me first. The biggest thing is the way it is setup you can't seal without first running a short vacuum pressure when you want to seal a bag. You have to push vacuum and then seal. It makes sense because of the way its set up. When you press seal the chamber closes forcing a tight grip on the bag in order to seal it and the seals are strong because of this. This is not a big deal at all you get used to it in no time but it was something that i wasnt used to at first. No big deal.The second thing that I was used to was having a bag cutter on the machine. The machine doesnt hold a roll of bags. To me this was perfecrly fine and a waste of space. I buy those bags in a big container and rather them use the space for a roll holder use if for the motor and sealer. Again this was no big deal for me as far as not having a bag cutter I just pull out scissors from the draw and cut my bag.Something I wish it had was a dual seal. Instead of one seal two separate seals that make it extra srtong.Those are the only down side to this and other than that this thing is great, powerful and the seals are strong.It is fan cooled and quite. Much more powerful than my old machine with possibly even less noise. How well this is built and how strong the vacuum is far out weights the few things i would have wanted on it.After i got this sealer I stopped looking because it had the two biggest things for me to find. A powerful sealer that isnt loud. If they included these things into this machine it would be ideal.The construction, motor and how quite this machine is top notch and it took a bunch of time researching and ordering others to realize this was by far the best machine I was likely to get for home use.( the brown box to the right of the sealer is bags I bought from Amazon. Also a good buy. It has a cutter on it and makes it easy to get the right bag lendth)

I had originally gotten a chamber sealer(not Weston) that arrived and wouldn't seal. After endlessly trying, I decided I would be better off with another edge sealer and chose the Weston Pro 1400 since it better suited my needs as opposed to the 2100 or larger models. This accommodates 11" wide bags. It has tremendous suction power and is easy to use. It is fully automatic so you can't adjust settings but it works just fine. I have used it to seal popcorn ...you just have to push seal as soon as the vacuuming begins for those delicate items. Seals are strong. I was not interested in having storage like the 1100 has....this unit works well! I am not happy about what I read regarding customer service....I did get a response to my question....unfortunately I could not find a phone number in the event you could call. Hopefully, there will be no problems. Extremely well made and durable!

I don’t generally do reviews. But when I find a product as good as this, I thought I must. As I said it does one thing and it does it well; and that is no-frills vacuum sealing. After operating this for a while I found that I made one mistake. I was pressing down too hard on the vacuum lid when it started sealing. The lid is quite heavy and I found that it does a perfect seal if I do not even press on the lid. I would like to see a vacuum bag roll holder on the back and a cutting bar, but to make up for it I bought an inexpensive product (A-HEYIDA kitchen rolls cutting dispenser) that solved the problem. I was thinking of trading it for a different vacuum sealer with roll holder and cutting bar but I liked it so much that I decided to keep it and I am really glad I did. So if you want a no-frills powerful vacuum sealer that won’t let you down this is the one to buy. I went through three high-end foodsavers in less than a year and a half. They just don’t hold up. I don’t expect to ever replace this and if it fails it is easily fixable as it is made up of all bolted together parts and they are readily available. Mine even came with an extra set of oval vacuum chamber seals and heat tape. I was thinking of deducting one star for the lack of the roll holder and cutting bar but this just does the job so well plus it does not advertise that it comes with the one, that I decided not to. LEM makes a roll holder cutting bar assembly, but they are back ordered until September. I might give that a try when it becomes available. I think it could be easily integrated into this unit. So bottom line with your eyes open about what this will provide and what it does not, I would highly recommend purchasing it.

Very happy with this sealer! So far I have used it on corn and chili and it worked amazing! Finally a vacuum sealer that is easy to operate, and versatile enough to do solids or liquids without a problem.
