It doesn't look as a new book
I am not dissapointed with the content, but with the presentation of the book. This book doesn't look as a new book but a gross copy of an original book. The cover and the back cover are weird, the inside pages don't have the margins that every book has. I mean, I paid more than $40 for a new book, but I'm not satisfying with the product I received. Of course, I can't say anything about contect, because I have not read all yet.

Family Business and how it is done
This text book discusses of the family business and how the family business has different challenges than any other business. The author presents a PPP model - parallel planning model. PPP model considers both the family issues and business issues parallel. It considers what is good for the family and what is good for the business. There are compromises in every situation the business or the family faces. There are also different reasons why a family member wants something (selfish reasons) that is not necessarily good for the business. Family business is always balancing between the business needs and the family needs. The family business members need to consider their past, present and future. Nothing stays the same as the founders get older and the future of the family business has to be decided. The strategies of family business needs to be considered often and make sure that they serve the business needs as well as family needs.

Packed with Knowledge!
Balancing the needs of a business and the family that controls it might seem like an overwhelming task, unless you tackle the challenge with a clear-headed plan. Randel S. Carlock and John L. Ward provide just such an approach by mapping out the strategies and structures needed to make a family business run smoothly. In so doing, they address family conflict, executive succession, ownership schemes and a host of other issues that can make or break a family business. We from getAbstract highly recommend this book too for its practical and applicable methods of striking a balance between the needs of business and the needs of family.
