Perfect for longer hikes. I used it most recently on Kilimanjaro as did many others. Good quality as always. This is my second Platypus...still using a one-litre version I bought 15 yrs ago!

I've only used this once so far but as it was on a very warm day on a long walk in the Lakes I drank from it a lot. I bought it to replace a very old Platypus that after many years and a lot of use had started leaking from the mouthpiece. I can't help thinking this new model is overly complicated compared to my last but the ability to isolate the mouthpiece, open up the bag for cleaning and attach the tube when the bag is already in the rucksack (without risking a major spillage) are actually all very useful. It certainly worked perfectly well when on a walk without any leaks. It fits well in the dedicated pocket of my Berghaus Freeflow 35 rucksack. Only time will tell if the extra complexity has reduced resilience.

Just used this for an ultra and it was perfect. REALLY easy to take out of rucksack without the tube flailing around, easy to fill and easy to get back into a packed rucksack. Very pleased with it

Taste is really important to me: I've tried many other big-name brands, and every one of them tasted of poison -- a complete waste of money for me as I can't bear the terrible flavour, even after washing them out with lemon juice, baking soda, Milton, etc. etc. Platypus is the only one that truly tastes of the water and nothing else. Hurrah!
