Great for costume use and looks authentic at any distance but up-close inspection, but not for constant or re-enactment use.
This apron/belt is a costume item, and with the understanding it's meant for that use, it is excellent. At the price they charged, beyond excellent. Aside from the lacing, it looks like it cost many times more. However, it is definitely a costume item, leather-look over foam, though the brass rivets are quite solid and heavy, with deep decorations of lion faces, and it looks really good, even pretty authentic from a modest distance. I don't expect it to have a long life though as of yet, over riveted aluminum chainmail, it hasn't actually showed any wear. The only reason it's not getting a full 5 stars is the lacing it attaches with. On each end are four grommets and it ties with basically a long shoelace that zigzags between them. It's not as easy to get on or get size-adjusted as a normal belt, especially since the lacing goes in the back (I had to put it on backwards very loose, raise it up, carefully tighten the laces, then suck in to give it a little extra space and carefully rotate it around the right way) but once it was on it stayed put and really completed the centurion look. It's a minor quibble for an occasional-use costume item, I'd rate them 4.5 if I could do half stars.

Good for the price
It fits as expected and is pretty good quality at a decent price. I have a wear men's 36 waist size pants and these worked for me after loosening the ties in the back a bit.

Cheap... cheaper... CHEAPEST!
Horrid, even at this price- no matter what it is. Two of the "metal" buttons were off in the package and additional "metal" pieces came off the first time we tried it on. The "leather" (obviously not really) strips are poorly cut, and worse, won't lie flat no matter what... I tried gluing strips of wood to the back and the crease they'd developed from the packaging and shipping STILL would not come out. Worst quality; wouldn't use for a kindergarten play. (Also, you'd need to be a GIANT kindergartner to fit this... my models were all over 6' and these looked like they were made for their older brothers...)

Fine for parties, bad for anything else
If you're a dude looking to be a gladiator at a college party where you know the quality of your costume doesn't matter because you plan on taking it off with that greek goddess across the room; go right ahead. This will do you fine. You won't have any issue taking it off in the "heat of battle", because you could pull it apart with your hands if you wanted too.For anything else, like theater, photoshoots, larping, faires, or in my case, trying to find a cheap alternative for a roman belt to hold me off until I can it a real leather one; you will find It is very disappointing and will stick out like a sore thumb. The belt is basically felt, and the leather straps are more like ribbons.Although I give it 1 star, it honestly deserves 3 because it is obviously a 12 costume belt. However, for 12 dollars you could just buy a leather belt and cut it up to look better than this.
