Beautiful container but the lid doesn't fit. I can't tell if the container is out of round or the lid is too big. Either way, it doesn't work. I don't expect it to be air tight, but you need some degree of closure for sugar, salt or spices.Update: It may have been affected by humidity/weather during shipping. After sitting inside a few days, the lid almost fit. I used some 150 grit sandpaper to open up the inside of the bowl just a little at the top and now the lid fits nicely. I increased the rating from 1 to 3 stars. Shouldn't have to use sandpaper to make it work right.

One of my first acts after moving into new digs with granite kitchen counters was to break an antique Nippon sugar bowl cover, and I'm still in recovery months later. I like to keep a little bit of sugar handy on the counter near the stove. This little round box holds just enough, a few tablespoons, to make it easy to add a pinch when needed. The lid doesn't have a cut-out for a spoon so I haven't had to deal with the sugar clumping. I'm pleased with this purchase.

I'm not good with measurements so it was smaller than I was expecting, but I am using it in my kitchen to hold my rings. I like that it is real wood for a reasonable price
