Works
Swapped my starter on my glastron boat. Does the job, no complains. It’s been about 1 month.

Factory replacement
Works exactly as described and has zero issues. I have about 20 hours of service on it and it performs great.

Cranked-but internal short in solenoid BAD !
Total waste of my time.I purchased this to replace the starter in my 1998 Wellcraft Excell with 4.3 Volvo Penta. After a very careful installation taking pictures of the wiring and verification of them upon attachment it was in without hassle.I bumped the starter a couple times and all seemed well.We headed to the lake the next week and it cranked fine and would start....but as soon as you let off the key it would die. Then would intermittently blow a fuse. ( NEVER ) has done that before. Ruined the the day, we headed home.I rechecked everything and looked for shorts...all good.Ran to the parts store and bought another starter and now it works just fine.Sent the POS back.

Fit our 1996 MasterCraft LT1 -good value
I took a chance here based on price and quick shipping. This unit did not match our old one perfectly-it seemed a little shorter. It bolted up just fine and when I hit the key fired up perfect with no grinding or perceived mismatch. The listing did not note that this would fit our 1996 MasterCraft LT1 but it did. I think it sounds better than the old one which was also aftermarket. 5 stars all around.

Worked wonders! Easy install and matched perfect.

works so far
Looks solid and well sealed, not the starters fault but holy crap to install it I had to use zip ties and a coat hanger snaked behind the exhaust to support it long enough to get the bolts in. Other than that, fired the motor right up. I only used it to winterize the engine (maybe 10 starts) but it looks and feels well built.

Cheaper than rebuilding, no core.
Unfortunately have had to buy a couple of these but all on me for flooding the first one with a leak in my exhaust boot. Have paid over $80 to have one rebuilt so good value.
