DYI yoga night!
This little book has been a great catalyst for getting a group of rowing friends together for yoga over the winter. We pass the book around and take turns leading each other through the poses. Each pose has a good explanation of how it relates to a particular part of the rowing stroke. There are also clear cautions and alternate methods for those working through physical limitations.

Good first edition
I am a 7 year rower and a 500 hour yoga instructor, nurse, Reiki Master.I found book concise, but think missing the core of what yoga is The Union of Mind, Body and Spirit. It was too much an exercise book.It is the importance of the breath, first and foremost that gets us to be in the moment and in our body.Good first edition.

I would pass on this one
It is a tiny little book less than 1/4" thick. Fairly similar to the exercise booklets on rotating display stands you see at fitness outlets. That may have been ok if it was content rich, but it was rather fundamental in its coverage. Most of the poses are not that far removed from standard stretches at the boathouse. I understand and appreciate brevity, but this was extreme. Additionally, there are an excessive number of pages that are entirely blank, gigantic checklists (as in font my great grandmother could read without her glasses), notes pages (think lined paper), or testimonials about why this book is good for rowers. Having the book in hand, I immediately felt I wasn't getting what I had paid for.Rowers, by nature, are an intelligent and driven lot that are forever looking how to up their game. While this book starts with a good concept, it falls short on execution. Especially for the price.

It's a super thin book. Not much there.

Great idea...but very fundamental
Very small book (few pages) of elementary yoga poses/exercises. I thought the book would contain more detailed advice on taking yoga positions further to benefit sculling and sweeping. If you have done very basic yoga, you already have the knowedge and poses in your own yoga practice.Would I buy this book again...or recommend it? **No! Use the 20 bucks and buy yourself a new yoga mat instead!!!

It was just ok
Very small book with basic information. I was wanting something a little more substantial. I liked some of the info and will incorporate it into my workout.

... a 62 year old 'Masters' rower and needed something like this to maintain flexibility
I'm a 62 year old 'Masters' rower and needed something like this to maintain flexibility. There are 12 poses in total, 3 for each phase of the stroke cycle. Give yourself about an hour to complete the lot. After a while you really will feel the benefits in focus, core stability and strength. I've seen Cambridge crews using some of these as part of their warm-up routine. On a practical note, the book itself is quite slim but the pages can be bent back to remain flattened on a particular page so that you can follow the instructions, without the pages detatching from the spine - I've used the book for some time and it's still in one piece.

Very thin
This is a very thin volume. Only 12 poses and then some space to write your notes. Not good value for money.

Exactly as it says, yoga for rowers!
A great tool to help train rowers to develop strength and flexibility directly relevant to rowing technique. Great examples and descriptions making links between yoga poses and how they relate to different parts of the stroke. Still need to work on applying the advice!
