Classic Heathkit Electronic Test Equipment

I know of Mr.Tranter from his videos of various Heathkit Electronic equipment. This book is a well laid-out look at some Heath co. offerings in test equipment. Thank you for offering a look back in time, on a segment of a companynot too far from where I grew up. I Used to very much enjoy building Heathkits, and I enjoyed looking through this book.

There is some interesting information here. The author goes into detail on select instruments from each of over 20 different categories. He covers the field in 11 chapters. In each chapter he presents an in-depth look at one instrument.Unfortunately the illustrations in this book are of very low quality. Some of them even show what looks like toner smears and scanner-introduced distortion. This greatly detracts from the reading experience. It also likely accounts for the relatively low price. This volume is a good reference piece that could stand a substantial overhaul.

This comprehensive guide is very well written, well illustrated, very accurate and to the point. It has photos of the most popular pieces of test equipment that Heathkit made. It also describes the equipment in detail and gives the year of manufacture for each item. No Heathkit collection is complete without this book!-Marty WB2FOU

Liked the book, but would have prefered either more devices or more technical information on each entry.Lots of tables of information, but could have found that online.I would be interested in a follow-up book if it had expanded sections and more devices were covered.

A terrific book for anyone interested in Heathkit electronics. Jeff does a great job covering the history and product line of this once very popular DIY kit manufacturer. I have a broad collection of these vintage beauties. The best ones to find are the ones that don't work. It's a lot of fun bringing them back to life.

A must for anybody who made Heathkits or who re-furbishes them!

Love this book for a look into the world Heathkit Electronic Test Equipment and overview of all the different testing Technologies.They call it Classic Tube technology , still, l it is with us today . Tubes are hard to beat for raw power and the sound from the Amps.I enjoyed reading about the company and all the equipment they produced over the years in kit forms.This is like reading pages of history from the company.

The content of this book is excellent but the images in the copy I received are very poor quality: faint and low contrast. The text itself has printed OK however. I may just have been unlucky as reviewers in the USA have been very happy. I tried to have it replaced but that was not an option, only a refund. I decided to keep it but it's a bit disappointing.
