Inexpensive Anatomical Model
Very good casting of an actual skull, hand-dressed to remove mold flash. There's sufficient detail to see most structures and the mandible is nicely pivoted on urethane inserts with a removable compression spring to hold it in place. The skull cap is registered with locator pins and held securely by small, embedded magnets. The detail inside the cranium matches that of the outside. The teeth are two separate castings--one upper, one lower--and one wisdom tooth is still present. Excellent quality and detail for a very fair price!

Might have to give it a name
I bought this as a reference model for drawing practice and to better understand the different forms of the head at varying angles and positions. It's hard to put my finger on it, but I love this skull! Originally I thought having a skull lying around my house would be a bit morbid, or even scary. But after a few drawings, I sort of bonded with it. If this keeps up, I'm gonna have to name it. :) I'm really starting to see the value of being able to position the head in different lighting and the many possible poses for reference. I expect I'll be a better artist because of it.It feels solid and looks great. It is also a good size to draw from. Looks like an actual human size skull or maybe very slightly smaller. Packaging was great, lots of bubble wrap protection, so no worries there. As others have noted, the picture on amazon shows the jaw spring on the side of the head. The skull I received has the jaw spring attached from in the inside of the head and is not visible. Remove the spring and the entire lower jaw detaches which is great for other drawing references.I would recommend me to any fellow artists.

If you are looking for a truly 'LIFE SIZE 1:1 scale" anatomically correct skull this is it
If you are looking for a truly 'LIFE SIZE 1:1 scale" anatomically correct skull this is it. Unlike 99% of the skulls (and skeletons) out there this one is anatomically correct in detail and size (adult) right down to an impacted wisdom tooth on the upper right side. Pictured on the LEFT/UPPER next to another Amazon or eBay purchase skull advertised as " 1:1 Life size " for the same money. Well constructed piece suitable for Medical teaching applications or hyper realistic Halloween displays / prop making

Solid but for Anatomy studies
Ok so I bought this for leaning the bone list for A&P and it's a damn good deal for the money. If you're in a similar boat then you know how many markings and bones are in the cranial and facial bones.Pros: Cost. Similar skulls from medical distributors will cost 10x as much. Detail is pretty solid on most parts. Certainly sufficient for most major markings and honestly you should be studying other skills at school anyway; more exposure is better.Cons: It lacks the hinges on the sides typical of standard anatomical skulls, but it does have magnets along with the standard dowels, and it's nice and snug. Anatomically, the superior occipital fissure is kinda weak and indistinct, the mandibular fossa have rubber pads for articulation, and the foramen rotunda is missing, but none of those are deal breakers for me.Overall: most markings are nice and clear, even the cribriform plate is pretty detailed. All the major fissures are pretty discernable, for my purposes its absolutely, 100% hands-down worth the money.

Great for education OR decoration!
I'm a dental hygienist so I use this piece for education. I really like that the right side has class 3 occlusion and an impacted wisdom tooth and the left side is class 1 occlusion- the "flaws" make it more real! Hinged jaw comes off to easily show coronoid notch and lingula (local aneshesia anatomy). Very durable, on the heavy side. Cranium comes off to reveal pretty detailed sphenoid. All in all, very happy with the product. For now, it lives in my living room. His name is Vince.

Highly recommended
I purchased this for art reference purposes. No regrets!Very detailed, great quality and sturdy build. One thing though. The skull pictured is seemingly an old model. The model you get doesn't have the visible screws or springs to the sides - It's been updated to articulate without it. Another neat little detail is that the jaw can be removed. It's a breeze to detach and reattach, no sweat. It's even better now! Also, it's more of a white/off-white color rather than the yellow-ish tinted model pictured. All around great purchase.

HQ for the $
Most skulls out there are either far too expensive or are grossly inaccurate. This one is high quality (solid, durable) and very accurate to a real human skull. Ever since they discontinued the Lindberg Skull it has been difficult to find a good one under $40. Thankfully this one actually surpasses the Lindberg Skull in every way :) Haunters can use it to create master molds and teachers can use it in class. Thanks for the awesome product!
