Works great - as advertised!
If you are a budding Arduino enthusiast, or just looking to get a project going without investing in a full Arduino board, then this is for you. There are a few things worth mentioning before you buy this: 1) You must provide your own source of power. Your source must be a regulated +5v. How do you plan to provide this source of power? A 9v battery will kill it. A battery pack with 3AA will not be sufficient. For a couple dollars more, you may want to buy the version that comes with the LM7805 regulator which can handle up to 30v input. I like to hack those plug-in LED night lights from the dollar store to get 5vdc from an outlet.2) How do you intend to upload your code? I used my Duemilanove board with jumpers to program this chip in-circuit. If you do not own an Arduino device, you will need a USB-FTDI adapter to accomplish this with your new toy.3) The product description says it is pre-loaded with the Duemilanove bootloader. I tried programming the chip only to get an error. Mine was actually using the UNO bootloader, and when I tried that it works flawlessly.Great product. I would recommend to the seller to include the breadboard for another $2 so it is ready to go upon delivery.

missing the mini breadboard
The description doesn't say that its not included but its in the picture and not in the package. I'm sure some people are just putting this on a proto board but I planned to mount it on a bot. For the price it should have all the parts. The chip is 3 bucks, the other parts are maybe a total of 50c from other Amazon sources.

Nice Kit of Parts
This little kit of parts helped me take the next step. I've worked a few projects now without the traditional UNO board. It is kinda fun playing at this level and it's getting me ready for the next step of maybe programming the ATmega328 without Arduino. Maybe. This kit comes with the older Duemilanove boot loader and this is fine. I've swapped this chip and a chip from an UNO Rev 3 and Rev 2 in and out with no problems. Just remember to select the correct board in the IDE.The other issue I had was getting a program to load. I tried my best with XBee Series 1 but have not had luck yet. Any clues? I went to the Sparkfun Breakout Board for FT232RL USB to Serial (BOB-00718) and had to play a bit with DTR and reset (a little cap in between) to finally get programs to load onto the breadboarded chip. Since then, it's been working perfectly.

great product for the right price
Being an Arduino enthusiast this product is the perfect product for the price. The picture shows a breadboard which is not part of this. However if you're even looking at this product you probably already have a breadboard so that is no issue. There are clear instructions for assembly online as well as a simple tutorial to get you started right away. If you were like me I need to simplify the Arduino footprint on your bread board this is a product to have.

Everything you need for a basic Ardunio
Purchased because I was too lazy to source all the part I need for my project. The ATmega328 came programed with the boot loader. Hook the my circuit on a small breadboard and download a program using my Uno as the ISP. Worked first shoot, no problems at all.

Great Arduino/Bareduino
This is my first Bareduino, already have the scketch loaded and running, now working on getting it on to a circuit board and making it permanent. For the price, well worth it. On my next project, I will be getting another one of this. works great.

Barebones Arduino
A fully functional arduino that's perfect for prototyping or permanent install. You will need an arduino board or other programmer to write code onto the chip but it is a very easy process. Came with all components listed and works like a treat!

Neat product, Great Support
I have purchased several Bareduino's. My son and I have had lots of fun assembling them and using them. With a perfboard (not included) you can build a rather useful portable computer that runs on common batteries.
