83375/83376 Sears Kenmore Air Cleaner HEPA Filter

Purchased this HEPA filter for a Kenmore Air Cleaner. Previously purchased this annually from Sears at almost twice the price $109 - $119. This filter is identical to the more expensive one I replaced. It has been in use for over 4 months and my family has noticed no difference in performance.Highly recommend unless you're averse to saving money.

Sears/Kenmore stopped making these HEPA filters (or at least you can't find them on their website anymore). So I have been searching all over for an "original Kenmore" replacement. You can find a ton of after market replacement but not the original. I was cautiously optimistic when I ordered this, and was REAL happy to see it is indeed a Kenmore filter. I compared this one to one I still had in the box and they are exactly the same! Price is really fair too. I just wish they would pack it a little better for shipping. The shipping box was destroyed, but the filter was still in good shape.

When I first received this filter, it was a paper-framed filter the same size as my original Kenmore one. It would fit in the filtration unit, but was far inferior quality, and was damaged in transit (it was just the paper-framed filter in a box - no proper packaging).I submitted a complaint/damage report via Amazon, and the seller immediately responded and sent out a new filter. They did not ask to have a claim filed for the damaged filter.The new filter arrived and was what I thought I had originally ordered - a *plastic*-framed filter (not kenmore, as others have commented, but that's ok), in the original box/packaging.What to make of this? I'm not sure. Perhaps they mistakenly shipped me the wrong thing, it was damaged, and sent the proper thing right away. In this case, the product is good and customer service was great. Or perhaps they meant to ship the paper-framed filter, hoping I didn't complain. I'm not sure I have an opinion, but wanted to make sure if anyone else gets the same product, they should get in touch with the seller.

This is a good filter, just wish it wasn’t so expensive.

We bought a Sears air purifer many years ago and needed to replace the filter. Sears closed by us so I was very pleased to find a filter that fit the purifier on Amazon-. The price is comparable to what we paid in the store.

The filter itself is fine, but what was saved on ordering this version (made of hard cardboard (?) frame) was negated when add in the cost of shipping. I'll try another seller/site to buy from next time. My advice is to shop around on the internet not sure if worh ordering item from Amazon vs elsewhere. I didn't give 5 stars to product b/c I'm not yet convinced it will hold up to the factory version...will update if opinion changes.
