Nelson's Compact Series: Compact Bible Dictionary

Love this. Not what i originally expected. figured it would be definition of words or terms. but it's more of a book on explanation of key events, words, moments and people of the bilble. really help me understand when want a little background or history behind a passage or event. Great for new comers of studying the bible. Gives a good foundation to help better understand during reading or studying. If you just want a definition of words, go with a Corcordiance. But highly recommend this for beginners.

Just what I was looking for.

Nice edition to my library. I'm glad they also explained some of us Keep the Seventh Day Sabbath (4th Commandment) under the Sabbath section instead of blowing it off like a lot of dictionaries do just explaining the non biblical Sunday keeping is the true sabbath... This book is a must have for your library as its a more professional resource.

Prefer their regular Dictionary

Very informative. Great for my hermeneutics class. This dictionary is worth the price for the explanation on Jesus Himself alone. If you are not a Christian this will help with those self-proclaimed Christians that do not know the Bible. If you are a Christian and like to investigate/research and learn this is a great addition to your personal spiritual library.

This is second book and I like it. Got one for my friend's birthday.

This is my favorite bible dictionary. This particular purchase was a gift for someone else, but I picked this one because I own it, and love it. If you want an outstanding Bible dictionary, get this one, you will not be disappointed.

Not bad for one of the "compact" bible dictionaries out there.But a paperback bible dictionary that focuses more on the spiritualinterpretation of scripture is "Oxford's Dictionary of the Bible."
