Works great on marijuana smoke! (plus lots of other stuff)
I'll get to why I knocked a star off my review in a minute (check out my update at the bottom, back to 5 stars). Just know, this thing is amazing! I wouldn't call it a great value, but it's worth every single penny. We have 4 dogs in a single story open design of about 1250 square feet. I instantly noticed a huge improvement in air quality within a short time after turning it on! The auto function works amazingly well. It will be sitting there on it's lowest fan speed, having successfully cleaned the air all day/night. The little blue circle indicator light tells you your air is currently at it's cleanest. I'll light up a joint about 20' from the purifier and within a minute or so I'll notice the fan speed crank up to its fullest! (It's still super quiet though, even on its highest you can't hear it with a TV on) Red indicator light! Then purple! It tells me right away that my air has been polluted and it's working to fix it. Within 20 or 30 minutes, the whole house is completely smoke and scent free! It's perfect for all you well-to-do stoners such as myself. You make good money, you have nice things, you're a grown up now! You don't want other adults coming over to your marijuana smoke filled house. Especially all your friends with kids. Or maybe you have kids? What kind of an example are you setting!? Opening the windows on a nice day only does so much. And if you have cold winters and can't open the windows, what then? You buy this thing ya dummy. All those problems will be solved.I knocked off a star because my wife is making me return it. She doesn't like how it looks. I don't think it's terrible. It's the great air purifier paradox: In order for it to work well it's needs to be out in the open, but to be out in the open it needs to not look stupid. There's a lot of air purifiers that I passed over based on looks alone. This one I was on the fence about, the color choice of the panel helped push me over. I'm going to add a picture to this review. If you agree with me and think it's looks not that terrible, leave me a comment! Or if you're wrong and agree with my wife's decision to return it, please don't let me know.Anyway, you can turn off the panel lights by pressing the big colorful button in the middle while it's running. That's obviously nice if you're gonna use this in a bedroom. It'd be nice if you could turn the panel lights on and off without having to turn the entire unit off. Seems like an unnecessary power cycle just to adjust the lights. But hey, it's got a lifetime warranty so who cares if it breaks from excessive power cycles!Long story longer - I'm going to have a hard time replacing this with something else, especially with how well it works. The bar is set REALLY high for cleaning the air in my house now after owning this thing for only a few days. I'm addicted to the fresh air. I work from home and spend a lot of time here. It feels really nice. I will caveat this entire review and say this is the first air purifier I've ever owned. Maybe they all do pretty well? Most of the major players have good reviews. I think it comes down to aesthetics when you spend this much. We don't have a ton of space in our house, so this thing has to sit right out in the open for everyone to wonder and ask what it is. It has to look good. I'll admit that it's not the sexiest. Unfortunately, function over form is losing this battle to form over function this time.P.S. - what maniac thought purple was the right color to indicate your air quality is at its worse!? Why would red indicate the second worst air quality?? Is there some standardized air pollution color rating system that I'm just not aware of?****Update 2 weeks in, back to a 5 star review****OK, we tried to replace this unit with a different, more aesthetically pleasing purifier. We tried the Coway AirMega 400. It looks great, covers a similar square footage, and has even better features than this Alen 75i unit....but it flat out just didn't work as well. It was also MUCH louder. With this Alen 75i unit in the same exact position as the Coway AirMega, the air was noticeably cleaner and smell free. Also, on it's loudest setting the 75i is hardly noticeable with a TV on. The Coway AirMega was at least 4 or 5x louder on it's loudest setting...to the point where you didn't want to run it on it's highest setting unless you weren't home.We tried this unit in a few different positions around the house, some out of the way where it didn't work as well, and now in it's new spot (different from the pictures I posted) and it's seriously great! My wife isn't thrilled with the spot we landed on, but it works really well and isn't as bad as she once thought. Seems that function over form has come through to win in the end!

Best purifier we've used.
We have a number of these throughout our office space. We leave them on all the time to ensure that viruses and pollutants are as contained as possible. We used a different brand previously, and these are 1000% better. These are nice-looking, as quiet as a purifier can be, have a slim profile, offer many finishes, have a great app and remote, and seem to function very well over a long period of time with high usage. Additionally, this company gets the right items delivered in good condition and on-time as promised. We don't really have a single negative to share!!

Nice unit
Nice unit. Runs mostly quite unless it kicks up to high which then you can hear it but is definitely not what I would consider loud.I appreciate the piece of mind of having cleaner air to breathe.

Great air purifier
Just started using the Alen BreatheSmart 75i yesterday morning. Easy to set up, quiet, and seems to clean the air. Consumer Reports number one choice.Have been using this large, wonderful air purifier for weeks, and I can see a difference in the low amount of dust in the house. The air is definitely better.

if u need something for smells this is the one to buy (make sure to get right filter)
If you need an air filter that removes odors, this is the one. Don't bother getting one for 200-300 bucks like I did, it won't do anything. Just spend the money and buy this one. An actual life saver. I haven't attempted to use it for smoking inside but for general odors it works wonders + it is sensitive enough where it will detect vapor as very poor air quality and suck every particle out of existence.Make sure to buy the most expensive air filter though. Need the one that specifically says odors. This is a serious investment but it was 100% worth every penny.

Actually Does What It Was Designed to Do
We live in an older home and dust and other flying debris is rampant. I am allergic to dust and almost constantly having to wipe my nose. I've been wanting one of these things that would actually clean the air I breath in my home. I read on Consumer Reports that this one did what I needed done, cleaned the air of the particles I could see floating in the sunlight coming in the windows. It is a bit expensive but what is the price on one's health. I rolled the dice, it came, way to simple to set up, just very nice. The proof was in the air quality. I set it on automatic and it started running on high with the circle of light showing dark red. After a few hours the circle air quality indicator gradually turned green. I noticed the difference soon and am breathing much better now. I love this thing. Worth the cost if you want to breathe clean air in your home. When I cook anything in the kitchen(one room away from the machine) it kicks into high gear, the light turns toward the red and it goes louder until the air is clean again. I only hear it running when the air quality deteriorates from some known source. It cleans the air of dust, smoke and other stuff I'm sure I don't want to breath. Like I said, I love it.I recommend this product.

Improves symptoms of asthma and cat allergy sufferers
I bought the 75i unit in August and so far I’ve been super happy with our 75i unit. Not only can I log in to the app and see the air quality history, I can tell when we have windows open in the house (air quality is worse from the pollution outside) versus when the windows are closed (air quality is good or excellent except for when we’re cooking and throwing pollutants into the air from our gas stove). We also have allergy and asthma sufferers in the house and there is an improvement in symptoms. Less tissues (still with allergy medicine) and less need for the inhalers. This unit is in addition to a whole house air filter. This helps to clean the air when we don’t have the furnace or air conditioning turned on and aren’t pulling air through the whole house air filter.

Excellent machine (by far) but little warranty
First of all, this (75i) is an excellently designed and manufactured air purifier; its good features have been discussed by other reviewers so there is no need for me to repeat. I just want to add one comment: its internal sensor is sensitive to water droplets as well as real dirt in the air; therefore, the mist from a humidifier triggers a "purple" easily. This can wake you up in midnight if you leave it in auto mode. Nevertheless, I would still give it five stars if there weren't the problem discussed below. The major issue which made me consider returning it is that, for Canadian buyers, there is virtually NO WARRANTY at all! Alen does not provide any warranty - no even 1 year - for units purchased through amazon.ca, which is the only place we Canadians can buy it from. iTech Canada, seller on amazon.ca, only provides a 30-day return policy. Therefore, if your unit breaks down on the 31st day, you are totally on your own. In addition, the so called "forever warranty" is only available to buyers in the 48 contiguous states in the USA, and is NONEXISTENT for Canadians. All of the above frustrating information is not available on amazon.ca at all! You don't get it until you buy a unit and research on your own. So, go ahead to buy it if you are willing to take chance, like what I did; otherwise, stay away from it.

Very quiet..not very noisy, even on turbo
Love that it's much quieter than my small Honeywell. I can sleep with it on. I also love the auto mode which changes the speed as air quality changes. I had burned oil in my oven [terrible fumes] and I opened all windows and doors for a good while..but turbo mode cleared the fumes which remained in a half hour or so. This, imho, is a good product.

Review .
Help to purify the air in our house. Needs to have an operation and code to understand the system. It is printed on the box but once that is recycled the information is gone.
