🔗 Connect with Confidence!
The Platinum Tools 100023C EZ-RJ45 Shielded Cat5e/6 connectors are designed for superior performance and reliability. With a unique EZ-RJ45 design that allows wires to pass through the connector, these plugs maintain the integrity of wire twists, significantly reducing crosstalk. Fully shielded to enhance noise immunity, they meet Category 6 performance standards and are compliant with FCC, UL, and RoHS regulations. Each pack contains 10 connectors, making it a practical choice for professionals.

WOW! A must buy.
These things WORK! Very easy to use since you pull the wires through the front before termination and therefore can verify wire order accurately. You get better with them each and every one you do. Be sure to bend the external ground 90 down before inserting the cable and then push the conductors through the front and if they are in the correct sequence go ahead and push the jacket up and alternate between pushing the jacking and pulling on the conductors that came through the front. Once the jacket end is where it needs to be, twist the ends of the loose conductors so the whole assembly does not slide backwards down the cable while terminating. After termination, you bend the external ground tab back up and then wrap the drain wire around one of the fingers and pre-crimp it with your hand. You may use a specialized crimping tool to finish it off or a pair of pliers if you are very careful not to over-crimp. Remember to re-set the plastic lock tab to 45 degrees because the termination tool will press it down quite a bit, which would cause a loose connection to whatever you are plugging it into.YOU MUST use the Platinum Tools EZRJ45 termination tools for these connectors. I used the HD PRO tool which I love. The connectors and the tool are pricey but very worth it if you value your time and sanity. I did not have one bad termination on a large network install. There is a website which shows how to use these connectors and it is very well done...just search for Tech Tool Supply in Michigan and they have some great tutorials.

actual Platinums, so great!
can imagine the moment when someone said "why not just push the wires thru and then cut them instead of trying to get them "just right"?". I use only Platinum EZ-RJ45 for Cat5e/Cat6a22-24ga and EZ-EXRJ45 for Cat6 20g (the ones where they have to be 4up and 4 down due to thicker individual starnds.

I needed a shielded connector...
I needed a shielded connector and already had an EZ-RJ45 crimper. I tested the cable afterwards with my Fluke cable tester and it passed all the Gigabit tests. Not much more I can ask for.

Perfect and Easy
These connectors are expensive, but they allow easy termination, and perfect ground integrity. Just wrap the cable drain around the crimp sleeve before crimping to complete the ground. Excellent for HDBaseT installations.

Shield connection unreliable
The external crimp-on for the drain wire is too malleable and comes loose very easily, making for an unreliable connection to the shield. The connectors with the internal crimp for the shield (100021C) are a tiny bit harder to use, but MUCH more reliable.

work great

Misleading description, these are definately NOT cat6 conectors.
These are cat5e connectors and are NOT made for cat6 cables. Cat6 cables are 23AWG wiring, and are too large to fit into this connector. Cat5e connectors allow the 8 strands to fit into the connector all in a row, whereas Cat6 connectors stagger the cables.I would rate this a ZERO STAR if I could, since it appears that the product description is misleading.

I'll never go back to regular plugs. Well worth the extra price IMHO.
