Easy to follow very good

An excellent Grammar for beginners to moderate levels which I bought as a backup/reinforcement for the book used at evening classes. It is definitely not advanced but does cover all tenses inc the subjunctive and could set you on your way to A'level with no problem. It belongs to the BBC Talk series and cross references with their online site. It's well indexed and clear to follow; not a stand alone book to learn from but a good reference book. It has a lot of grammar in it but is laid out in a formal but friendly way. Not only that but it is a lightweight paperback & easy to carry with you to classes. I was so impressed with it that I bought the French one as well

Attractively presented and balanced introductory grammar, which breaks down the various topics into manageable chunks.

Very helpful, I use it to review what I have learnt

My wife and I are trying to learn Italian, and attend an Italian class. Some of the other members of the class had bought this book and so we thought that we should as well; we had been using Collins' alternatives. This book has been extraordinarily useful to us. Its teaching of grammar is comprehensive and concise, and it has helped us enormously in developing conversational skills when we go to Italy. We can recommend it thoroughly to anybody intending to try to learn the Italian language.

Excellent book. Very well structured. De-mystifies Italian grammar. If you are willing to put the work in and go through each chapter more than once, and actually do the exercises then this book will pay dividends. If you use this along with other sources (such as the excellent free mobile app 'Duolingo') you can make very real progress.I have never tried to learn another language before and still have a very long way to go but am making real progress largely due to this book and feel confident of achieving conversational Italian within the next few months and even, possibly, eventual fluency.

Great book a little bit difficult to keep it open but the content is amazing, learnt the alphabet in seconds and pronunciation is easy to pick up from the book. Much thicker than expected aswell which is great. Would recommend, helps string all your knowledge together.

I'm italian amd I was looking for an italian grammar book to help my english girlfriend to learn my language. I spoke with some friends that teach in Italy and togheter we found this book: it is quite good, as it gives you the basis and some very good explenations and examples, and I think it is very well written. In case you want to learn italian it could be a very good support for your studies. Only down side it came with neat cut on the last 2 - 3 pages, as it was a present and I was in shortage of time I couldn't replaced, but it doesn't look very professional to dispach a broken item. Apart from that great book.

A practical and , consice reference for iralian grammar with some minor mistypes to correct though. For ones who want to have a pocket reference as well
