The adventures still on
Fun elements I remember planet argon drogna uncle who turns into a plant and the vortex definitely a forerunner of the crystal maze this was way ahead of it's time it looks a little dated of course with it's not so special effects but If you like a trip down memory lane if u were a child of the late 70s early 80s it also has household names in children's TV and early evening TV of that time

Nostalgia aplenty
Can remember watching this series when I was a kid, don’t necessarily remember the first few episodes but the rest I remember with great fondness, all the episodes are here in this 6 disc set, great packaging, nothing too much to give away. People that used to watch this will be glad to buy this to relive the moments of pure puzzlement of how some of the celebrities just don’t get the puzzles to the just bad luck of getting zapped by the vortex.

Great but could so easily be better
Great video, fondly-remembered series of intellectual puzzles and tomfoolery. My main criticism is a lack of extras. You'd think the BBC could maybe get a few of those involved to give a little commentary or reminisce, include some off-stage photos, or even explain more obscure rules.Whilst it would have been nice, I do understand that the BBC wouldn't want to spend money on cleaning the images. However, not even getting the box cover art right? For that, I sentence them to litter duty between Arg and Earth.

Strangely addictive
This DVD box set contains all surviving episodes of Series 1 and 2, and all of Series 3 - 4.The Adventure Game is a televisual oddity that succeeds by drawing you in through a subtle combination of primary colour and unemployable actors. Across four series we watch the well-known and the unknown attempt to work through various physical puzzles - very much a proto-Crystal Maze - in order to escape from the planet Arg and get back to Earth. It's really fun to watch - you'll enjoy shouting at the contestants who just can't seem to see the bleeding obvious. Also a lot of the trappings are visually addictive - the colourful local currency called Drogna, and the merciless end game of The Vortex, whereby losers can end up evaporated. It's all delightfully cheap-looking (less delightful during Series 3 where the design work just looks shoddy) and none the worse for that.Minor celebrities involved in this multi-camera madness include Paul Darrow, Graeme Garden, Lesley Judd, Janet Fielding, Bonnie Langford, Noel Edmonds and Keith Chegwin. Non-celebrity contestants include a Britain's Caretaker of the Year and a frighteningly-committed teenager with disturbing hair and game zeal that borders on mania.Get it, soak it up and bemoan the passing of the 1980s.

Watched as a child cheesy now as it was then
I haven't watched every episode, and some are missing, deleted by the BBC in their infinite wisdom lol. Shame, but I knew that before buying it so all good ;)

Dated but Fun
I can't remember watching this myself but the DVD was for my partner who was a fan of it when he was a teenager, I enjoyed watching it though. I thought the second series (we've only watched 2) was better than the first, it was extremely low tech to begin with and it improved by series two. It was fun seeing all the old "celebrities" of the era (plus a random member of the public, how they roped them I've no idea) and we were shouting at the screen the answer to the puzzles - easy when you're sitting at home though isn't it! Great fun if you accept the limitations of the technology.

Good Stuff!
This is a forerunner to shows like Nightmare and Crystal Maze.Watching it as an Adult it's still pretty entertaining with some cool guests - Paul Darrow anyone? The image quality is variable but still good enough. The Show changes and evolves between series's.Not nessasarily great as a binge watch, but as a part of a rotation with other stuff it works well.On account of being a six disc set it represents good value.Nostalgia fans and people who enjoy similar should be happy.I'll give this set ....8/10Thanks!

A blast from the past
All the series apart from 2 episodes which are still "lost". The recordings are from an analogue format so don't expect crystal clear pictures on your tv. But if you want to relive the original days of the adventure game then this is for you.
