Six Great Sherlock Holmes Stories (Dover Thrift Editions: Crime/Mystery)

Print is too small, and paper is too thin. Students struggle to read the stories.

Our school requested this specific Dover Thrift Version. The price here is great. However when I received this book, it is a very narrow book (not many pages), and it has the smallest printed words you have ever seen. I would have paid more for a larger book with words that won't strain your eyes and give you a headache when reading!! Also, there was no "look inside" or sample for the buyer to see before ordering.

It was a good suspenseful book. I found it kind of predictable but the problem solving methods of Sherlock Holmes are really interesting and it is fun to see how he solves the case.

As good as movies

Love revisiting these stories.

I am always happy with a good Sherlock Holmes tale and in this book I found six of them; I wish it had been twelve !

I liked the various stories.

In detective literature Sir Arthur Conan Doyle with his Sherlock Holmes series is undoubtedly one of the best authors ever. His character Sherlock Holmes has a remarkable power of observation and his deductions from minutest details are plainly stunning. I feel there never is a dull moment in his stories; which are concise to the point. This compilation of six stories is no exception. My favorite from this list is "The Adventure of the Empty House"; in which Holmes busts the remaining group of Prof Moriati's gang. I will not divulge further for fear of giving up the plot.

Usually the Dover Thrift edition books are reasonably priced and good reproductions. Unfortunately with the Six Great Sherlock Holmes Stories, the font is so small it make it almost unreadable. Wish I could send it back and make them read it. A headache........
