I put the longer posts on the collar, and tested the shock level at 15 on myself. Yep, it worked - on me. I had to mow my lawn and use a string trimmer. My dogs tend to try and attack the string trimmer, so I thought it would be good to put the collar on one and press the vibrate button when she got close.She is a long haired German Shepherd, so I tightened the collar as much as I could without choking her. I first tried the vibrate on 15. No effect. So, I tried shock at the same level. Again, no effect. I kept stepping each one up incrementally until I got to 100. Still nothing. Oh, I could hear it vibrating, but it had no effect on her.Fine, she has long hair, so I thought I would try it on our 5.5 month old Golden Retriever. Again, I started at 15 on each and stepped up incrementally. When I got to 85 for each with no effect, I took it off.This was a complete waste of money. Perhaps it works on short hair dogs. Our Golden doesn't exactly have long hair though. She also doesn't have short hair.

this training dog collar is great for those who have a dog that your having problems to train.I have tried a number of training collars and this one really works .I have a very large dog (50 kg in weight) with a very thick coat but this collar has no problems with that.trust me I have had the collar for just a short while but the collar work straight away and the dog is now doing what I say straight away..Don't be put off by the low price IT IS A BARGAN.

Works great till it doesn't. Worked great when I first received this collar, have a hard headed dog so didn't take long for her to know when we had the remote or not. Had to recharge every 2 days, but was used on vibrate often and shock a few times. After about 3 months is seemed to have stopped working, but when I checked it everything worked. I came to the conclusion distance had greatly reduced. After 4 months my wife woke me and said she smelled something burning. We searched the house and found nothing. The next morning we found it was the collar, smelled of burning rubber. What if this thing had caught on fire?

I didn't need much strength since the dog is responsive. It does get her attention when I press it and she looks more annoyed than hurt at 24% shock... the beep and buzz make her stop to think about it if she's not terribly focused yet on her mischief ideas (chase the cat, etc). The double press to get the shock is a good idea... I wish it would stay "on" longer since when I need it some times it is turned off.

I have big dogs with long fur, so I was looking for a product that is flexible, waterproof, and easy to use. This product hit all the marks EXCEPT for it frequently looses connection between the receiver on the dog and the remote. I had purchased two of these and had the same problem with each. My dog would be idle for a while, then would move to front of the house (which we didn't want) and I would have to walk all the way to the dog to get the tone (even without obstruction). Kind of defeats the purpose if the receiver looses connection! When the collar worked, the tone and vibrate function worked well. However, the shock function was not strong enough for my long haired dogs, even at 100 with the collar tight on their necks, as instructed. I even tried without the rubber membranes.

As a dog trainer this product is very unreliable. The “sleep” mode turns the receiver off after a few minutes. Then sensor is made of poor quality so it doesn’t recognize motion therefore the collar stays in Sleep mode even after you’ve touched the buttons. Using e collars you must have quick response to teach your dog at the precise moment. This product doesn’t have to consistent ability to do that. Don’t waste your money.

I have a small crazy runner in the house (Yorkie Terrier)... and this device change my life in 48hrs...! No more running...! Still using the device, just in mornings to reaffirm the training and my little beast follow directions the rest of the day!
