Great book
Very informative with a good dose of humor thrown in. If you are looking for advice on LCHF this book is a great help.

Fairly Useless.
I've been eating low carb for more than 10 years--since I was diagnosed with diabetes. In the beginning it worked for me, but with age, low carb alone has stopped working. Jimmy Moore, whom I have learned a lot from, has this thing about not being willing to cut calories, and I got infected with the same idea from him. But in the last few years it hasn't been working for me, and it wasn't working for Jimmy either. He was getting quite visibly overweight again. Then Jimmy discovered LCHF from a Swedish doctor. A year or two later, Jimmy's pictures are quite svelte. So last winter I decided to try the LCHF. I didn't succeed. I felt crappy (tired and cold all the time), and I didn't lose weight. So I've been wondering what I did wrong. On his blog Jimmy has been quite coy about what he actually eats. So I decided to seek out an actual book that would lay out the mechanics clearly. Jimmy is planning to write one, but it won't be out until 2014. This was the only book I found on Amazon that had LCHF in the title. So I got it.I skimmed it in about three hours this morning. It is pretty much useless. I wanted a book with recipes and menus. I got a book with rambling stories about his buddies who need to lose weight but haven't tried LCHF yet. There were several chapters that went on and on about cholesterol and saturated fats. (If you want to read a thorough book that tells you everything you need to know about cholesterol, try Jimmy Moore's book, "Cholesterol Clarity" which is available here on Amazon.) That wasn't what I wanted. Finally I got to a chapter titled: "FOOD". Ah-ha, I thought. Now we're getting to it. There were no menus. There were no recipes. He tells us that he eats a lot of eggs. (Unfortunately for me, I'm allergic to eggs.) Then he mentions that sometimes he eats steaks. Then he tells us again that he eats lots of eggs. Sometimes he eats eggs on his steak. Then he tells us that he eats a lot of Thai food. (He lives in Thailand.) He names a number of Thai dishes and tells us how he gets restaurants to modify them to make them low carb. Since there is no Thai restaurant in my town, this information does me no good.He never mentions protein. I know from Jimmy that when doing LCHF, you need to moderate protein. This guy doesn't seem to know this, or if he does, he doesn't mention it in this book.Bottom Line: This guy is an enthusiastic amateur. He is an amateur author and an amateur LCHF adviser. At the time he wrote this book, he says he has only been doing LCHF for 18 months.I don't recommend this book. If you want to learn how to do LCHF, keep searching on the Internet until another book comes out. As popular as LCHF is on the net right now there is bound to be one soon.

Meh...
Nothing I didn't know from earlier reading. More geared to men. My major objection was objectionable language.

LCHF Advice? Not so much...
Not much of an LCHF informational book, more of a biography of the author with stories and anecdotes LCHF thrown in on the side. There are some informational tidbits but everything in the book is easily found for free on the internet. If I knew what I know now about the book before I bought it, I wouldn't have bought it.

Sensible and personal
A very good intro to LCHF and far from extreme. Good advice mixed with personal experience. I enjoyed it. I'd recommend this to anyone starting out with the diet.

I loved this book. Very humorous! Also tells the facts but in layman terms.A must read if you are considering LCHF lifestyle.

This book wasn't as helpful as I'd hoped.
Minimal information on the diet. It's more like a personal food memoir. It's a quick read. Got a few tips, but that's about it.

Researching Paleo and Lo-carb diets
This book is a bit thin in research considering it's examining a very hot topic in diets these days. The facts seem right, I would just like a more thorogh treatment of the subject.

LCHF
This is not a new concept although he thinks it is. I suppose actually calling it High fat is what is "new".It is all too American for me . Learnt more from Rose Elliott's Low carb vegetarian books lots of really good information. She doesn't make a big thing about the high fat content but uses butter cream etc.rather than the low fat products.
