Absolutely nothing wrong with this toothpaste. I use 2 small pea sizes each time I brush my teeth. Once pea size drop to get the general clean and then another to do a final freshen. I think the reason that it doesnt feel like cleaning, because much like some shampoos, it doesnt have that chemical that creates a foaming effect. It is actually cleaning your teeth, it just doesnt have the foam action. I also dont think a couple of pounds on toothpaste is really breaking the bank... it lasts a few months. Thats like less then £10 a year on something thats much healthier than all the chemical toothpaste
