This is such a fantastic little idea! Such a creative and unique product. Like other reviewers have said, I knew that I was paying for the look and concept behind the item rather than the storage space. So yes, it's definitely pricey for such a small amount of space but it's totally worth it! (Wouldn't hurt to throw in an extra GB or 2 though.)The box that it comes in is great! It's a nice and sturdy box that says "ReHistoric Era" on it with a picture of a dinosaur. Adorable, right? The cover of the cassette tape has a nice sized heart shape that can easily be written/drawn on. Inside is the actual cassette which looks JUST like a real cassette tape. There are lines to write notes on as well. Also included on the back of the front cover on lines to write down what you're putting on the tape- or anything that you want really. Exactly like original cassettes had. Sides A and B are clearly marked. There is a little tab that you pull that releases the USB and bam, you have a modernized version of a cassette tape.I had no issues plugging the USB into my computer. Everything loaded on it quite easily. Obviously the space became an issue so I had to buy another. Nothing I wasn't anticipating though.This is part of a care package for a birthday so this technically isn't mine. And as much as I want to say that I am sure that the recipient will enjoy it as much as I do, I can't. But who wouldn't? Everyone that I have shown this to has fallen in love. It's unique and fun and instead of creating generic "Playlists" on Spotify, I can now make "Mixtapes" on a modernized version of a cassette tape.I have no idea how the idea to even look up such a thing came to me but I'm glad it did. I love this product!

It was used when I got it! Had someone else's music files on it and writing on the cassette liner. I should've just sent it back, but I decided to just wipe the files and make a new liner - I bought it for a gift and was in a hurry to send it. Big mistake. It must have been returned as defective and they just re-sold it to me! I spent a LONG time making 3 different "mix tapes" on this thing. Stupidly, I didn't make a separate list. It worked fine yesterday. Today it doesn't even show up on my computer or my wife's. Nada.If it had just been DOA that would have sucked, but having it crap out after investing all that time is so much worse. I'm just glad I didn't send it as a gift to my new friend. Worthless piece of time-wasting rubbish. I just hope they don't sell it yet again, this time with MY files on it.

This is a great idea and product!!!. I bought this to make a "mixed tape" for my boyfriend or his birthday as we are both very much into music. The nostalgia factor was what influenced my purchase as I am aware you can get a 1G thumb/flash drive any where for less and DIY, ,but for the price and the lovely box got gifting and presentation and quality of the product I think it was well worth it. A priceless gift will be given with priceless memories. I will update and let you all know if he liked it as much as I loved making it for him with this. There are several graphic to choose from and it looks just like an old school cassette tape, but is indeed a USB Stick Flash drive. Way too cool! I remember the days of doing these "mixed tapes" the hard way, waiting for song to come on radio and hitting the play button on the record button at just the right time, I just bought and downloaded some special tunes, make a list and done! Too easy! The hard part was choosing the songs and what order to put them in! ( That had nothing to do with product! ) Awesome!

Obviously way overpriced for a 1GB flash drive but you're paying for the packaging and I knew that going in. If you think you're going to get this in time to put a gift together, give yourself a bit more time. I excitedly finished my playlist and decorated the case and then stuck the flash drive into my USB port and it was a dud. Return and replacement with a working one was easy but I spent HOURS thinking something was not working on my end before finally exhausting all troubleshooting and emailing to initiate the return process. I did not have the new case in time to give the gift but I was eventually able to put the whole package together. I give it 4 out of 5 stars for being a very cute, overpriced "gift bag".

The storage size is tiny for the price. But that's not why you bought this, is it? If you're buying this product because you need a USB storage device, you can buy magnitudes of order bigger for cheaper. If you're buying this product to as a joke or novelty, it works awesome. It comes in a nice cassette case that you've probably forgotten how to open, adding all the more fun.

Super unique and perfect gift for the "mixtape" lover in your life. Very creative and awesome packaging. I really wanted to take off a star for only having 1GB of space, but I knew that purchasing it and it came as expected. I'm not sure where you even find 1GB usb drives at large quantities anymore? Lets get this upgraded to a bit more modern size and you'll have a REAL winner on your hands.

UPDATE: I contacted the company directly, via their customer service email address, from the product information link and they responded within an hour and are offering to replace my flash drive. My experience with this product has been redeemed.This flash drive was expensive for 1 gig drive, but a price I was willing to pay for the novelty because it's cute and I was planning on using it as a gift in a couple of weeks.Last night I attempted to get my gift ready and discovered that it doesn't work right and no computer can see it. The IT employee at my office fiddled with it and she couldn't make it work either, and suspected it was a driver issue, so she told me to send it back and just get another. I just tried to initiate an exchange but it since I bought it in mid-January, and apparently it only has a 30 day return window, I'm out $25 dollars.

I paid $16.99 for a 1 GB USB that looks like a cassette tape and the label on both sides are coming off. The whole point of overpaying for a 1 GB USB is that it's supposed to be a gift that looks like a mix tape. It's not a nice gift to give someone if the labels come off.
