Heavy hinged glass cover. Great buy for the money. Fits 40-gallon Aqueon tank perfectly; so, never fully close (not quite enough room for large filtration system necessary for salt water or reef aquarium. Glass remains perfectly clear, and the product seems very durable.

Doesn’t fit 40 gal breeder. Is too long. Don’t feel like returning since it’s a pain so I’ll have to pay a glass shop to cut a quarter inch off.Not happy.

i love this! it fits my aquaeon 40gal breeder tank perfectly, just enough room for the filter hoses in the back, has a bit of room for the fans on top (have an axolotl tank) to blow into the tank as well. has held up well.

First one arrived shattered. Petco does a terrible job of packaging their product. Arrives in a huge box with insufficient bubble wrap thus leaving a ton of empty space that allows the contents to bounce around. The replacement was quick and arrived intact. I got it mainly to cut down on evaporation, which it certainly does, but the water condenses on the underside of the glass making me wonder how much this cuts down on light penetration for plants. The cover fits. perfectly, but the back open area is not very very flexible.

I want to start by addressing the negative reviews. This lid does fit the Aqueon 40 Breeder tank perfectly. I was initially swayed by those reviews and wasted both money and time purchasing acrylic pieces from Lowe’s, which ended up looking like crap. Frustrated, I decided to give this lid a try, and I couldn’t be happier. The dimensions are 35x15 inches, and with the included plastic extension, it fits the 40-gallon breeder tank like a glove. Don’t let the negative reviews deter you. This lid is the correct size.

I bought this for our Aqueon 40 gallon breeder tank that houses some hermit crabs. Mesh/screen tops do not retain heat or humidity, so we tried this glass option. Works perfectly for what we need it to.

So I purchased this as a lid for my 30 gallon. It does not fit. It’s too big. I believe it would fit a 40 gallon. But on that note, if you’re putting this on a 30 gallon please don’t purchase it. Completely my fault because I didn’t check the measurements before purchasing. But this lid is good quality! Well-made. And arrived without damage. So all in all is a great product. Just human air on my part.
