Great, but requires creative installation for stud walls
Some buyers have said this product is flimsy; IMO it is extremely stout. However, it is not suitable out of the box for stud-framed walls. As others have noted, backplate is in two pieces, suitable as shipped only for (per instructions) "concrete wall or hard wood wall".I adapted it to stud wall installation with a length of 1" x 1/8" steel bar stock (available from HD or Lowe's), cut to the total length of the backplate as illustrated, then drilled the bar with (2) 5/16" holes on 16" centers. With the inside "U" of the wall backplate resting on the bar, the bar fully supports the length of split backplate.Included hardware would be fine for a concrete wall, but was virtually useless for stud wall construction: the lag screws are dangerously too short. I opted for 5/16 x 4" lag screws and matching hot-dipped galvanized washers.Supplied metric machine screws were too short (15 mm) or too long (30 mm) for my TV. Yeah, I could have cut down the 30 mm screws and cleaned up the threads with an M6 die, but it was just easier to buy (4) 25 mm screws from Home Depot.Note that cutting steel bar stock is not for wimps. It would be slow going with a hack saw. Either a cutting torch or pneumatic cut-off tool are the right tools for the job.Bottom Line: Great price and well made, but if your walls are other than solid, buy only if you enjoy problem solving.

Excellent mount and very strong!
Hung a 50" TV thanks to this beast. The TV I hung was heavier than most and it was no problem for this mount. The mount had several different screw sizes to fit any TV. It was very easy to install. The only thing I didn't like was that the back plate came in 2 pieces. I feel it might have been even stronger with one piece. I like that it came with a level. I had my own level but the one provided was small and easy to use when other tools are in your hand. There are so many holes in the wall plate so that you are almost guaranteed to hit a stud. To secure the mount I used a total of 6 screws. I put a little of my weight on it and it wouldn't budge. The knobs on the side allow you to adjust the angle of the TV, which I took advantage of. Overall this mount was excellent.

It works, Quality is good
The product works, it will hold a TV on the wall, and even allow it to tilt 15 degrees. Installation is only slightly more difficult than a mount with a solid backplate, which is to say not that difficult if you have a very basic understanding of hand tools and wall construction. This is a quality product, it is a simple design, that is about all there is to say about it. Is it as easy to install as it would be if you called a professional to have it done? No, it isn't, it is much more difficult than that, but if that is what you are looking for there are probably several pages of companies in your local yellow pages willing to help you out.If you don't understand how walls are built, this and every other wall bracket is going to be a challenge to install, but that isn't because of a bad design, that is because of your lack of skill and knowledge. If you are on the fence about tackling this project and are worried about the quality of the product, don't be, the product is fine, if you are on the fence because you aren't sure you are capable, then have a pro do the job, a poorly installed wall mounted TV is dangerous to people and the TV set.The only issue I have with the instructions and packaging is that it comes with concrete anchors and the instructions specify that this bracket should be installed on a concrete wall or solid hardwood wall, that is their way of escaping liability if the customer can't find studs in a hollow wall. That is a bit of a cop out, and they used it to avoid adding information on how to locate and attach to studs, which I guess I can understand, but understandable or not it is still a cop out, so minus one star.

STRONG AND SECURE
Worked perfectly. The plates that mount to the wall (not talking here about the upright pieces that mount to the TV).......the plates that mount to the wall...... are 2 pieces that have to be aligned well to make your TV look level. I was a little dismayed at first that the wall plate was not one piece, but my TV weighs 65 pounds.....in my home the wall studs are on 20", so I was able to mount each plate securely to a wall stud, using lag type screws, thereby insuring a very dependable mount. In addition I used a newer type wall anchor in the area of the plates that needed to be anchored to the sheetrock (wallboard), whereby you punch the anchor through the wall with a hammer, slide the grommet down to contact the wall, and then break off the 'zip tie' type of plastic alignment rods. Ask your hardware store about these. They're called 'Snap-Toggle'. Take your time, don't get in a rush, use a yard stick for measuring, lag bolts or large screws as your main anchors into studs, (pre-drill for those), use a bubble level and a pencil to mark your mounting spots, and as they always say, MEASURE TWICE.........CUT ONCE (or in this case, DRILL ONCE).
