Bento box what a stupid name, but it has opened a new world of fun and continent ways to eat more health
At first when I got it, the cover wouldn't stay closed so I opened a return on Amazon. I read the feedback for this item it was overwhelmingly positive. I must have missed something, so I went back and found a few other comments about the lid not closing right and the manufactures feedback was good, they said welcome to return it with no problems but try running it under hot water and bend the latch out a little bit. It seemed to me like that would only be a temporary fix at best and I didn't want to get stuck with something that would eventually fail or open up and spill everything all over my car or something, so I started shopping around for a replacement. I could not find anything that I liked as well, the size of this one is perfect, also I liked that all the little compartments were separate containers, not just dividers in the box. It gives much more flexibility for what you can pack in it. I also liked the covered internal containers, which increased the possibilities of what you can carry even more and lastly I like the little sauce container for dips. There doesn't seem to be any others that are quite as perfect as this especially for the price, so I decided to try the hot water trick and surprisingly it worked! and it worked great! As a matter of fact I have tested and tested the lid to see if I can get it open or if the latch eventually goes back to not holding the lid shut. That was not the case I can drop the box, twist it and squeeze it and I am very certain that it won't accidentally come open, unless something inadvertently pushes the latch that allows it to open. I have been using it for a few days now and couldn't be happier. I look forward to taking part in this bentology thing that I never heard of before. There is a website that gives you all sorts of ideas on what to pack for lunch and you can sign up for a weekly email with lunch ideas. I can see where this would be great for kids school lunches, but for me I will use it to take healthy things to work for lunch or snacks. The are so many things you can do, especially if you have some left overs. extra raw vegetables or fruits, I dug through the fridge and found part of a green pepper, I sliced that up, threw in a few baby carrots and pieces of cheese and some rolled up pieces of lunch meat, a few grape tomatoes, some red grapes and mini sesame sticks in, then I put a little salad dressing it the little covered sauce cup and that was lunch my first day. I have been to the website and found some great recopies. Monday I am going to try the seasoned baked chicken breast pieces, sliced onions and peppers and spices it looks a little bit like fajitas, then I'll open the fridge a throw in whatever else I can find and take it to work for lunch! I am excited about bentology! I never new what it was but I am looking forward to a fun way to more healthy eating and I am confident that the hot water trick works permanently! I will not be returning this, it's my new favorite thing!

The best!!👍👍
Love Bentology. My son is 4 and in Pre K and it’s plenty of space for his food and then some. He loves the Bento concept and that his food is all in one place in front of him. Packed full, it would be enough food for a grown adult. I actually found a Bentology lunch bag (the one with the water bottle holder and zipper pocket on the front) that came with some extra containers on clearance at Staples, so those, along with what came in this kit, allows for plenty of different configurations when organizing his lunch. The large clamshell-like container that all the little containers sit in is not leak proof, nor does it claim to be, but the smaller lidded containers inside are. I don’t send soup or anything too watery but ranch dressing, barbecue sauce and yogurt have all done just fine in this lunch box. Aside from all different options when organizing lunch, I love the Bentology sleeve lunch bag that this fits inside perfectly. I prefer it to the larger one I found at Staples just because it takes up less room in his smaller backpack. The only thing that would make it perfect would be a sleeve inside to hold the ice pack in place but it’s a small gripe. Sometimes I skip the ice pack all together and throw in a frozen juice pouch. It’s the same size as the included ice pack and keeps his lunch cold until it’s time to eat. There’s so many options, I can even take out the large container(s) inside or just move stuff around to fit a juice box or Horizon milk box along side his sandwhich/ full size lunch. I don’t usually put a lid on the containers when sending his food to school unless it’s a sauce or yogurt... Less pieces to loose and it’s easier for him come lunch time to just open the box and eat but I do find the lids useful each night after making his lunch to store in the fridge/ keep it fresh until morning time when I take them off and put the box into his lunch sleeve. I also love the space on the right for a spoon/ fork/ napkin/place to store the lids etc. It’s just really well thought out with so many options and a good choice for any age. It’s been great for us. I swear my son eats more because of it. Just wish I’d discovered Bentology last year! 👍👍 I also appreciate the Bentology lunch ideas eBook that comes with it... Helpful for inspiration when I feel like his lunches are getting a little repetitive/ boring.

Don't waste your money, this product is awful.
Bentology used to make a great product, but their new bento boxes are terrible. I bought a second set for my partner in July of 2022 because of how much I liked the one I had bought in 2016, but their new version is awful for a variety of reasons:1. The outer box's closure doesn't work. It snaps together for a second and then immediately pops open, so nothing inside the box is secure. It has been this way since day one.2. The lids do not fit on the inner containers and will fall off without any applied force. This is a problem in and of itself, but combined with an outer box that also doesn't close means there will be lots of spilled food in your lunchbox (especially those that hold the box sideways, which Bentology also sells despite this issue).3. The lids on three of the inner containers have already cracked apart, and the containers themselves have severely warped. Mind you, these containers are only 4 months old and have never been in a dishwasher, they are only washed by hand.We had to throw this box away because of how terrible the quality was. I used to be a big fan of Bentology (the original box and containers I have still work great), but I will never buy from them again.Save your money and buy something that will actually work.

Great for school lunch bags
I've bought these before for my grandson. I bought two this time. One for my grandson and now for my granddaughter. There are leakproof and it is hard to find good containers that actually are! Highly recommend.
