Early Hollywood (CA) (Images of America)

Luv the book I’m a huge old golden Hollywood nerd… the book is new but was disappointed it arrived with page folded when I opened book..

My daughter is now married and lives in California. She & my son-in-law come to visit us in the Midwest about once a year. I always leave some things on "their" bed for a "I love you" gift. This time along with a few other small gifts, I left a couple books - and this was one of them. I will always remember my son-in-law walking into the living room holding one of the books. He showed my daughter the book and talked about some of the things in the book ... he liked the book. He was smiling and I was thrilled. I told him they had a whole series of books like this ... God willing, he'll find a couple more on the bed when they come for their next visit.

This was pretty good. Informative with good choice of photos.

I'm a native of Hollywood and I'm always looking for photos of the old place. This has a lot of photos I haven't seen before, but it's still a bit unsatisfying as it leaves out a lot of domestic architecture, the kind I grew up with. A good introduction though.

For someone out of town, actually out of the country, this whole series of books is great! It covers the history of the vcarious places in Tinsletown with pictures that one would not be able to find anywhere else. Mr. Wanamaker is a godsend for keeping the historical background of Hollywood alive.

This book was a good read for a history of Hollywood Freak like me.

I love images of America books. And Marc Wanamaker tells it so well. You really do go back in time. A good sourse of information. It's history.

Once again Arcadia publishing have delivered a wonderful photo history book, this one dealing with early Hollywood. The book is full of photo images, many rare or rarely scene along with detailed captions all provided by Marc Wanamaker and Bison Archives. Great Book.
