Ultex® Standard Pick .60MM - 6 Pack

I was so impressed by its performance that I also ordered the .78 thickness, and while both are excellent picks, the 1.0mm version has quickly become my go-to choice, particularly when I'm soloing. I've been trying different, affordable, picks for flatpicking, and these are the best, so far. Just the right amount of snap, not too stiff. Easy picking because they are slippery and smooth. I've read they last a long time, but I can't speak to that yet. The tortex are also good, but will wear down.

Love these picks and can't beat the price!

Love these picks. I prefer a thinner pick, but I like them stiff. Ultex picks are just that - significantly stiffer than most for any given thickness. The .73 Ultex gives me a pick that's as stiff as a 1mm typical pick, but in a thinner size. Only downside to these is "Don't drop them on a wood floor or on stage". You won't find them in a hurry.

I got used to the guitar picks that typically came free with other purchases, whether it be a guitar strap or just wandering into our local Guitar Store franchise. What you’ll notice first with these picks is the texture... they don’t slip or slide in your hand while at the same time you can maneuver them quite easily unlike some of the “bumpy” picks you’ll come across. It’s tough to describe. The other thing about these is the way they wear... where the cheap picks will lose their shape after some playtime, these don’t. You’ll notice that instead of the tip becoming rounded off, it’ll keep its shape but the wear happens to the edge in a more uniform fashion. If you typically “downpick” like me when you play, one edge will get a little smoothed off after some significant playtime. Flip the pick over, and it’s as good as new. If you alternate your picking, then these will last quite a while. I’ve noticed that the thickness on these don’t seem to be a 1:1 comparison in the “feel” dept when compared to the Nylon/Cellulioid equivalents. To put it another way, these .73mm Ultex picks have about as much flex as a .8x or .9x Nylon pick. I typically play in Drop C with 10-52 strings and while .73 works perfectly fine, they were a little stiffer than I anticipated at first. I think I’ll take the thickness down one notch and see how it feels. Nonetheless, I’m never going with another pick again... Dunlop Ultex has the best mix of grip + wear pattern that I’ve ever come across.

These picks give my acoustic a nice bright tone and have a great texture that doesn't skid around between the fingers. Everything about these picks exceeds my expectations except for... The color. Translucent amber....? Seriously? Someone in the design department needs to get handed a pink slip (or pick slip...?) These things camoflauge themselves perfectly against my wood panel floor, so when I drop one, it takes a day and a half to find it. I could be standing on a dozen of them right now as I'm typing this for all I know. Other than this incredibly annoying flaw, they are, for me, they are the perfect pick.

Picks are kind of a personal preference thing. I used the Tortex picks for a long time because, well that's what I used. The main complaint I had about them was they tended to wear out and get ragged along the edges pretty quickly. These things, by comparison, seem indestructible. Anything else I'd have to say about them would be pretty subjective: for acoustic guitar, the clean edge seems to be more forgiving of my sloppy strumming and it seems to give more of a clear tone when I flat-pick. They feel like they glide across the strings vs. the Tortex could feel like it was digging in, especially as they wore out. Totally subjective. About the only ding I have on them is they are a little slippery feeling when wet. Good luck and happy playing!

Too good quality plectrum for acoustic guitar.

El tamaño standard de una plumilla tortex, lo cual es bueno para los que estamos acostumbrados a ese tamaño. Este material es más duradero y da un sonido más brillante...lo único que no me gusta es que no haya opciones de color, y al ser de tono claro y trasparente es fácil perderles...

Plettro molto adatto per strumming (e non per altri usi!): buona la presa e la resistenza all'uso nonostante la morbidezza del modello. Offerto a prezzo molto vantaggioso.

Superpuas. Dan un sonido con ataque y claro. Eso sí, aportan brillo. Para un sonido más oscuro, me pasaría a las Primetone smooth.
