KNex Super Mario Desert Building Set

(My 10 year old son is writing this review.)This set is amazing! It was at a good price and great condition. The Mario in fire suit is nice to have, (he is a character I don't have) and the gold goombas are great! I love the stacking idea it's Just like the game! The instructions are good, not the best though. This isn't my first knex set I have (have the cat Mario set, prongo set and a lot of Mario kart wii tracks.) but, there is one problem with this set; the goal flag,(whatever you like calling it) I can't seem to push the flag part with the Mario and bowser sides onto the blue long stick so I can't put the little yellow ball on the top, but only able to push it about halfway which is not good for two reasons:1: it's extra tall and the base is already tall itself so it's not balanced when you push down the stick for the contraption2: it looks ugly with no yellow ball on top!So that is one flaw, but there are Cool parts too!1: there is a special piece for fire Mario so he can jump off this unique spring to launch in the air, which is good for the next feature...2: like I mentioned earlier, about the flag pole. You can bring down the pole so a little circle (kinda like a trap door) falls down and if you use the launcher (like I mentioned) to shoot Mario onto the trapdoor and the pole springs up so it's like Mario completed the desert-themed level.3: there Is a hidden underground room (just like the game) for Mario to adventure into. It's very nice knowing that they could have just patched it up (and not all of the sets come with a little secret ;)4: the goombas stack up and attach on a spot on the sand with a bar. If you turn the bar back and forth the goombas rotate.I'm just saying I'm also happy to get the coin block it really makes this set jump back into the game!!!But there are a couple of things I wish they could have added:1: a pipe to enter the room (love getting pipes!)2: there are 9 spots for coins but the set only comes with six I think you're supposed to switch the coins wherever but the set should have just came with 9 of them (especially since that this game was all about getting as much coins as you could at the time{which I thought was silly.}) I love this set in all and would recommend this to you (I just hope that you don't have any problem with the pole.) I recommend this to Nintendo fans, Knex fans, or someone who likes coins just as much as Mario and Luigi! :)

My son is 6 and very good at putting these kinds of sets together. It turned out great even though the instructions were for a different set.
