Couldn’t be any happier.
OMG!!!!! This freakin thing is awesome. I use it in my fully state of the art home theater. I connect my external hard drives with all my movies on them to it. It does the job so well. Even plays my 4k downloads, and the picture is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, and it is so easy to operate. If you’re on the fence about buying it, go ahead and pull the trigger. You won’t be disappointed 👍🏽

4k uhd folders not working properly.
Watch lots of reviews on YouTube, but not working properly with UHD 4k folders lots of frezes during playback "have high speed hdmi cables... tried directly with my tv LG C9 and Onkyo receiver didn'twork"....anything else regular Blu ray, mkv is fine, had great disappointment.

Not as wide media type support as hoped
An Android 6 device (outdated). Demands registration, even for offline use, which is nonsense. No privacy policy. Terms of Service in French for English user interface.Nice: Dolby support, external drive interface, mouse remote button for browsing. Not so nice: dependence on Google PlayStore, having to create and register Google account.Updated:Remote issue resolved. It appears that pluging in the IR extender messed something up. Unplugging it made the remote work fine. For some reason it cannot play mp4 demo files that I downloaded. Playing Dolby Atmos demos did not make the TV detect it.Ultimately, does not have as wide media type support as hoped, so returning it.

This is a pretty good player
Overall this is a pretty good player. I've looked for a long time and this is the first box I've found that plays movies well enough to replace my old WDTV player. The picture is pretty good and the playback is smooth. The remote buttons are too squishy and not as responsive as I would like but eh, it works. I've found Zappiti support to be very responsive with my issues of which I've had two:1.) I have an LG OLED TV and any movie with dark or night time scenes appeared way too dark, with many details blacked out. It was an awful picture and I was about to return the Zappiti. I decided to try customer support. They told me to change my android settings to the following which fixed my problem:Dynamic Range: Limitted (Settings / Display)Deep Color: 10-Bit (Settings / Developer Options)Color Space: Y'CbCr 4:4:4 (Settings / Developer Options)2.) The media center "Seen" and "Unseen" movie categories are useless if you want to use the cloud server and you have a large collection. I always use the unseen category, best thing since butter. Unfortunately when you add a collection, every movie goes in "unseen" status. Per customer support, you can only change the status of one movie at a time. My collection has more than 1000 movies ... change the status one at a time ... no way. If you have the hardware then you can put your collection on a local server fairly easy and then change the status as needed.

Easy to use and better than Netflix
Was looking for an easy way to have the hundreds of movies I own, easily accessible so I don't have to keep all of them in a bookcase. It has taken more than a few hours to backup my collection to an external USB drive but the end result is beautiful, easy to use, and worth it.The playback quality is exactly the same as if I was watching the disk.

Not Good for Blu Ray and DVD
Update as of 08/22/2020:I deducted 3 stars since their new firmware broke the auto frame rate for DVD and Blu-Ray movies. So if you'd like to play movies from Blu ray or DVD rip, you will be totally disappointed using Zappiti unless you're willing to use an older firmware (3.10 firmware is your best bet). Since I don't have any 4K materials, I don't know about that resolution. This may be a good media player for 4K materials. It is built like a tank with a beautiful poster wall.I don't have any 4K movies so I cannot rate it for 4K, but for other stuff (BD, 3D MVC, DVD) that I use it for, shows many stuttering. I stopped using it and moved to another media player that is perfect for BD and DVD.

It works well but....
I installed it behind the TV and tried to use the IR attachment. Tried everything but didn't work. Since the player is behind the TV the remote doesn't work unless I point it directly to the player going behind the TV. If the equipment includes an IR extender and it is only a matter of connecting it into a miniplug, it should work with no problems and that's not the case. Once you plug the IR extender, the player stops responding to the remote even a couple of inches away. Annoying to say the least!
