UPDATE: So, it has been a while since we purchased this leather harness for Dixie. Originally, we were very happy that she couldn't tear it or chew it so that it would come undone. Today, however, (October 27, 2021), the front of the harness where the strap is thred through for sizing has come apart. The rivet that held it together broke into because it was too short to go all the way through the 3 holes that creates the sizing loop. I have written the seller in the hopes that the harness will be replaced, but I do not know if that will happen. If you are looking into buying this harness for your furbaby, just be aware that the rivet will most likely not hold up and break into like ours did. I'll update once I hear back from either Amazon or the seller. Original review: This harness was purchased for our 17-month old German Shepherd. She has totally destroyed 4 harnesses prior to buying this harness. She has not destroyed this leather harness! She hasn't even tried to chew on it or bite it into.The leather used for this harness is quite thick. I am not sure if it is cow or buffalo leather. I don't really care what type of leather it is. I am just ecstatic that we finally found a harness that she cannot tear up! Woo Hoo!!

We liked the look of this harness and bought leather conditioner (sadly a wasted purchase) to keep it in good condition. After using it along with a 15 foot tie out, our 54 pound pitbull had broken the narrower strap. We have to resort to using a cheaper Chinese nylon harness that we kept. Hoping this was a weakness in that leather part? Can we get a replacement?

Pros: done well, genuine thick leather, adjustableCons: leather is too thick, not very soft, will take awhile for it to soften, seems a bit uncomfortable for my dog. Will try to use oil and soften it up

Fits great. We did have to return first one because top strap wasn't attached but second works great and stylish

This harness is really nice unfortunately, it did not fit my dog comfortably even after adjusting she’s 50lbs with a 32” chest. The straps chaffed her badly behind her front legs. Also, the handle on the top flops around when she’s running. Something to consider you if you walk your dog off leash as it can catch/snag on stuff.I thought this would be a nice switch from the typical nylon harness as leather is easier to clean.

I bought three of these harnesses for my big dogs. I am so glad! The harnesses are durable, the German Shepards wear them during the day and I like being able to have a “handle” on my their backs. Even working with my female GS to “help” as I go up an downstairs holding her handle. The dogs are all large dogs but their size / build is different for each of them. The harness is adjustable on the shoulders and around the body so I can easily fit them to each dog. Thanks for a quality product!

My dog has chewed through all of his old harnesses. He’s been in this one for months now and it’s still as strong and nice as it was on day one. Plus it just looks good! This was worth every penny and I will definitely be buying another for my puppy when she grows.

The smell is horrid, poorly designed and the larger work is not good quality.
