Etna Plastic Folding Pet Steps

This is exactly what I was looking for! My smaller dogs and special needs dogs can now get up on the couch on their own. The steps are lightweight and completely assembled straight from the box. They fold up easily to store, and they have a cushioned material on the steps for a bit of traction. The steps are deep and have just enough of a "wall" on each side to keep the dogs from toppling off the sides, but my little dogs did lose footing on the plastic a few times until they got the hang of it. It only took one day for a 2-lb chihuahua and an even smaller visually-impaired Maltese to figure out how to use them.It should be noted these steps are not super strong or sturdy, and are obviously suitable only for small and lightweight dogs/cats. I can imagine they would break if misused or if heavier dogs or kids were to play on them, so don't expect a tough, heavy duty set of steps here. These steps are a great value for the price, and I'm considering ordering another one in case these wear out or break.

My small dog does not like these steps. I used treats to help her learn to use them but she avoids the steps if she can. The steps are narrow and a bit too flimsy. The whole thing is light which I thought was going to be a good thing. However, the plastic is so light that it has some give to it when I set my dog on the stairs (she won't get on them on her own which defeats my purposes). I guess that might be what makes her feel insecure since each step gives a little. The steps are rated for dogs my size (same size as in the picture) but she will not use it. I think I have to buy something sturdier with wider steps.

Good transaction and easy to set up as they come already assembled with legs folded in. You just pull legs out to set up. The steps are plastic and about 12 inches wide with a layer of nonslip rubber across the center of each step. They are a bit wobbly because they are so narrow but when placed against the couch or chair they are steady. It didn't take me long to teach my pup to use them. I just coaxed him up and down with a treat each time. Now he uses them all the time. One thing that I think would improve these would be if the rubber nonslip strip on each step would cover the entire surface of the step instead of just the center, my little guy doesn't always step just in the middle and his feet slip. I think even this won't be an issue after he uses them for a while and gets completely used to them. All in all they work just fine and they are an excellent value. As other reviews have mentioned, these are for a small dog. I wouldn't recommend them for any pups over 10 pounds but if you have a little one they work just fine.

I buy from Amazon almost weekly and almost never write reviews. I decided to review this item because there were only 2 reviews and, for that reason, I almost bought a much more costly product. I have two small dogs who use stairs to get into my bed. Their whole lives they used stairs that were a sheepskin type material stretch over a plastic frame. The plastic frame cracked so I had to replace the product. I knew I did not want another set that used any kind of material. I also have cats and the pet hair would quickly build up on the old stairs. These stairs are perfect. They come ready-to-use right out of the box. I was pleasantly surprised by the sturdiness of them. I also love that they actually have sides. The stairs have a soft,rubbery material on them to cushion feet and sound. If your dogs are very tiny, elderly or infirm, be aware that they may have to do small jump from the top step if you are using these for a bed as opposed to a couch. Not an issue for healthy animals. If your pet is used to using stairs, they should have no issues using or adapting to these, especially if you are putting them where they are used to using them. The price was perfect, free shipping through Prime, and received in 2 days.

"...essential for small dogs or cats struggling to join you on the couch or bed..."Rather than looking closely at the actual dimensions of this product, I just assumed that, based on the description, it would be tall enough for my dog to reach my bed. I really should have measured for the actual height that I needed because this ended up being too short. I used a ramp before, which somehow fell apart, so I opted for these steps to replace it. I have a mini dachshund who had no problem using the ramp, but is having a hard time with the steps. He gets to the top step and whines to be picked up from there (thus defeating the purpose of having the steps) because he still has to jump to actually get onto my bed; but given the small size of the steps, it's too difficult for him to jump from that top step the rest of the way (or perhaps his long body adds to the difficulty).In addition, if his paws catch any part of the plastic that is not covered by the rubber treads, he slips around. This product can work okay for getting onto a couch, but it does not work well for getting onto a bed.Sometimes when a product doesn't fully meet my expectations, I can still get some sort of use out of it. However, with this product, honestly, I (my dog) can't use it. I will probably try to resell it or give it away. If you're looking for something for your pet to get up onto your bed independently, this may not be your best choice.

These are really great for my little dog.She was having issues with her back so I bought these to help her be able to get on the bed a little easier. She uses them and it is much easier for her. They are more for a smaller dog that's why I only gave four stars for sturdiness. My dog is about 13 lb. I wouldn't recommend for a bigger dog.

Product arrived with some minor damage to the top step but it should not affect my small dogs using the steps, otherwise good deal for pet steps
