It is just fun to play
The few extra dollars is a small price to pay for the "Episodes from Liberty City" expansion pack content. I have to agree with the people who cannot find a way to care about the main game's protagonist Nico Bellic though. Still it is a blast to do the missions and use Horizon to circumvent the lack of a invulnerability cheat (unlike in GTA San Andreas) in this game to: become a one man army against the LCPD, fly around the map with some RPG or handheld grenade assistance, and perform the insane stunts that can be seen on YouTube.Hopefully GTA V will generate more concern for the three protagonist through the game play unlike any of it's predecessors so that players become even more engrossed in their well being, rather than rag dolls in a meat grinder. This is one of the key elements that have been lacking for me in the past games, causing a complete disregard for the outcome of the character by the end of the game. Luckily I was able to get the Xbox 360 GTA V collector's edition pre-order for less than the special edition with the many gamestop gift cards I had been saving up and promo code to be able to test whether that change has been made.

As usual, a "rockstar" game from Rockstar
Decided I'd pick this one up since it was on sale and I was done with Red Dead Redemption.I've always been a fan of the open world environments GTA has offered, and GTA IV has only built on this. After reading a few reviews that were "PERFECT," i.e. 5/5 or 10/10 and didn't see any ratings lower than 4/5 or so, I knew this was going to be as good or better than GTA 2, which is where I left off.So far, I have not been disappointed in the least. I love the story line, goofing around town, side-missions and the ability to "teleport" using cabs. (That was my biggest gripe in the past; RDR had the ability, and so does GTA IV)Haven't played the expansion packs yet, and I'm only at about 25% completion of the game. I don't have a lot of time to play games, but I'm always trying to squeeze in a half an hour here-and-there to get another mission completed.Well done, Rockstar! Looking forward to the next one!

Review of GTA IV
This game was a drastic improvement with regard to graphics and overall details from previous versions GTA games. Since there are multiple versions of this game you can experience different perspectives of the Liberty City settings based off of NYC. This was a great open world experience because you can do little things such as bowling, eating and playing darts and so much more. The missions were very challenging as they progressed. This is especially true for the main protagonist Niko Bellic. This game could definitely compete with the current GTA 5 version in overall experience and enjoyment. If you have the other GTA games you will definitely love this one.Pro- Challenging and enjoyable- Great world experience and detailsCons- The only con would be that the main character Niko Bellic is sometime repetitive verbally.

It's a fantastic purchase....if you don't already have the game
Let's face it, Grand Theft Auto IV has been on the market for almost 2 years now along with both of it's episodic content. Altogether you're getting about $60 worth of content for $30, but it's really a matter of "do you have it already?". What you get basically is a copy of Grand Theft Auto IV with everything on it that was on it before, nothing new to add. And a copy of Episodes of Liberty City which allows you to play Lost or Gay Tony without the original copy of the disc. If you haven't been able to check out Grand Theft Auto IV over the last several year (like me) then this is the overall best deal. For those of you unaware of GTAIV, pretty much what you're getting is a the most realistic game on the market from in-game television (which holds the amazing "Republican Space Rangers"), stand up acts from actual comedians, taking out a girl on a date, hanging out with friends, and the most active setting of Liberty City to date. Niko Belic is probably the most likable character since Travis Touchdown with his blunt sarcasm making every situation in that much more enjoyable. However there are still no checkpoints thus making some missions far more frustrating then required. The Lost and Damned show a much more "metal" and "biker" influenced view on Liberty City while improving the motorcycle physics in the game has the most confusing protagonist I've seen in a long while, and Gay Tony manages to make things a bit more over the top and ridiculous (more in the fashion of San Andreas) while living up to the standard that IV set for me (and keeping the improved mechanics of Lost) in addition both Lost and Gay Tony have a checkpoint feature though Gay Tony happens to make the best use of it.Overall if you haven't picked up GTAIV you have no more excuses this is easily the best deal available with both Lost and Damned, and The Balled of Gay Tony still available on the game marketplace for $20 each. You're pretty much getting 3 games for the price of 1.
