Impressed!
I purchased my container of Passier LB almost three years ago. I was told by an old school "cowgirl" that Neatsfoot oil always did the best job at softening stiff leather. I was inclined to agree, but I hated using the stuff and I noticed anything I treated with Neatsfoot would sometimes darken more than I wanted and would also reliably mold - even when used very sparingly. When I acquired a new-to-me saddle that I loved the color of, I opted to put the leaderbalsam to the test. I thought the saddle was in okay shape, a little parched in some areas, but not really in need of a deep conditioning. I put some LB on it with a tack sponge and let it soak in over night. I was pleased to find the next day that the saddle looked INCREDIBLE. A little darker, which was okay, as it was quite rich looking. The leather was a perfect softness. It was perfectly conditioned and was able to soak pretty deep into the leather. I did try the LB on some cheaper tack and it didn't work quite as well into that, but it did soften it some. This product shines on the better quality leathers and has become my go-to for my higher quality tack that may need some rejuvenation. I'd highly recommend it for the occasional deep conditioning of high quality leathers.

Great product for tack
This is a great product, I've used it for years and it always keeps my tack looking great. Makes sure to follow the directions - apply it and let it sit for a while to soak into the leather, then wipe it off with a soft cloth. It leaves a slight residue if you don't which can attract dust, but it does a great job of renewing worn leather

It brought my thrift leather jacket back to life
I bought it after living in a ranch and saw what it did to saddles. So I bought a can for a leather jacket i bought at the thrift store. Duuuuude what an amazing product, it legitimately made my jacket look new again. I cleaned the leather with a damp lint free cloth with warm water, added a layer of the balm, let it set for 20 mins, and removed with a clean lint free cloth (polyester works best). I did it again a week later just to ensure it’s wel hydrated and the results are amazing. 10/10.

My 20 year old saddle looks brand new!
My 20 year old Passier dressage saddle fits my mare and I perfectly; however it was LOUD and looked old. One good cleaning, very thorough, made the leather look brand new, and no more creaks or rubbing. Feels even more comfortable. Worth every penny.

Recommended to Soften Leather
Through the years I've tried numerous leather conditioners and dressings on everything from car seats, shoes, purses, belts, various types of bags, garments, and leather tablet cases. Some products work better on some items than others, and I really like Passier Lederbalsam on purses, bags, & tablet cases. If you rub the product thoroughly on to the surface of the leather, the result is as others have said, a buttery smooth feel to the leather, and the leather is definitely softer. So far, unlike using some products for a period of time, I've seen no deterioration of the leather because of the ingredients in product. Professionally, I'm involved in the conservation of material objects, and watching for the degradation of an object following an attempt at conservation is always on my mind. I can't, though, speak to really long-term effects of using the product in artifact/object curation situations.Do keep in mind that application of Passier Lederbalsam may somewhat darken the leather to which it's applied.

I've used this on saddles before as well and it was amazing how it whipped the leather right back into shape
This stuff is THICK but it's the real deal. Expect it to take a bit to soak in. We have a leather couch from Room & Board, which we used this on (only because I've used it on saddles in the past - loved it- and suspected it would work on our couch since the leather is so thick). For obvious reasons, we are really discerning about which products to use in caring for a very expensive piece of furniture. As we own a lot of leather products in general, we have used all major leather conditioners on the market and the only other one I've been impressed with for thick/dry leather is Leather Honey. It renewed our couch and added a great luster, but did take a day to soak in which was to-be-expected. Find something to apply this with that will not leave residue behind (I used a rag with how thick this product is, that was a poor choice... use a sponge).

Good leather balm for your horse tack
I use this once a month on my horse saddle and bridle to keep them supple. My new (not so supple) bridle got softer much faster with this product. It is worth the effort to keep these expensive leather items in good shape and this is a good balm to use.None of them smell terrific, but this one is the better smelling one I've found.
