i watched many demo videos and was very skeptical about this being just a gimmick with a good sales promotion. I’ve never panned for gold at all and am planning a vacation to Montana so I want to learn. This was one of three kits I bought to try and I was able to recover the test gold and some extra I purchased to learn with and on my first try I recovered far more than I expected and it was easy and fast! I am very pleased!

Works!
I am still learning but so far this pan works really well! I can pan material down pretty quickly now that I have learned that this pan works best with it kept in the water while you release the lighter material. I stratify the material and then I dip the end of the pan into the water and 'pull' out the lighter material by moving back and forth. What I really love is that I can use this pan one-handed which comes in handy when I am in a creek and needing to hang on to something while bending over and panning.

Well worth the money
These pans work great. I use them to process the dirt down to a concentrate and then pan it out on a Garrett super sluice. In my opinion they really don't work as a finishing pan. I went ahead and got the biggest one they make since they will process alot quickly. I can't get the pocket pan to work for me, but that is probably just me. Your mileage may vary.

BEST PAN HANDS DOWN!
I just love this little pan! I found gold that I missed panning with my other pans. Once you get used to it, it is SO much faster and I have no fear of losing gold. I am using it to sample because its quicker. I am going to purchase the bigger pan because I love this little guy so much! It is my go to pan from now on!

Almost to easy!
I have a black Gold Claw and a blue one, plus the mini claw in blue. For indoor recovery I prefer the black. Either pan works just fine in sunlight and imo comes down to personal preference. These pans will definitely catch super fines! (WA state fine gold catching is for the very patient and or the highly experienced prospector. The learning curve is steep here. Anyone finding gold on Raging will confirm ;) ) Adjust your speed accordingly. The smaller the gold the slower you should go.... IF you want to catch it all..... If you are only looking for course or nugget gold, you can really work a pan of material very very quickly with these. As previous posts say, keep it submerged when working especially with flower gold or it will float away. Enjoy and happy hunting!!

What a fantastic gold pan, works great. So much faster and easier than the usual gold pan, nice size to take along with you too. I was a little leery about ordering one but have heard so many good things about it I had to, I'm glad I did.

Good quality, fast delivery
I’m a beginner and this is my first pan. I came across the gold claw by watching Vo-Gus Prospecting on YouTube. The pay dirt, that was part of the bundle had several specs of gold in it, which was very helpful to me, because our little creek has so much mica in it, that I really needed to know how gold actually looks like. Perfect Alternative to Traditional Old Gold Pans
I ran across the Gold Claw by happenstance and purchased it on a whim. I am happy I did and even more so, the owner called to make ensure Amazon's database correctly captured the size and color I actually ordered. My significant other and I plan on using the Gold Claw on our next adventure and then purchasing a larger one as well.
