Exactly as stated
I love these pants. I'm a nurse and I like to wear uniform pants instead of scrub pants but I'm tall and have a hard time finding uniform pants that have cargo pockets that are long enough. These are perfect; long enough, true to size(understand they are not stretch material), wrinkle free, tightly woven fabric. They have shrunk a little bit but I don't like doing laundry and I won't keep anything that requires special treatments for laundering. I decided to begin their life with me the way they will live. Lol, so they have been washed many times in warm water and dried until completely dry in the dryer. Shrinking happened, but very minimal. Slightly lower waist in the front that looks flat and really good over my belly pooch. In the back the waistband is low when squatting, but there are 3 beltloops back there close together that keep them from gapping. So no showing of skin. Overall these pants create a very attractive form to my lower body while remaining functional and keeping a more professional appearance than some scrub pants don't do. After many washings and drying they still look great. I like my pants to stay as they are because I'm a triangle shape and I like my pants to form my lower half,, so I don't like stretch denim. I gave them a 4 for comfort simply because if you want to feel like you aren't wearing anything, you won't think these are comfortable. The fabric isn't horrible tough, but it is a work pants type fabric that doesn't stretch. The elastic in the waistband is also made to last for hard work and the pants are fitting, so if that's not something you like then don't get these. Overall I think these are exactly as the company states they are, and that's not something I find often but something I want. These are good pants!

Great EMS pants
I'm an EMT and I got these for work. 5.11 continues to be unbeatable with their tactical gear and these pants don't fail to live up to the standard. Comfortable and pretty warm for how light weight they are. I live in a mountain town and the teflon and stitching of the pants does a really good job at keeping the wind out. I'm a female, 5'4 130lbs and I got a 6 regular. They fit great with a little snug of a belt and aren't too baggy in the crotch or butt area, but still leave enough room for bending, squatting, etc. Length is perfect too. My only complaint (and this is my fault because I didn't look closely enough at the picture) is that the pants only have two big pockets on the side of the legs vs the separated pockets on the 5.11 EMS pants. The EMS pants have single slits for pens, trauma shears, penlights, and a Velcro strap for tape so it's a lot easier to keep everything organized instead of having everything jumbled together in a single cargo pocket. If you don't carry all those little things then the taclite pros are great. I ended up ordering the EMS pants because blindly reaching into my pocket and relying on feel wasn't working for me in fast paced situations.

GREAT pair of field pants
I am a biologist and do a lot of work in the field (I'm a field ecologist)- this often involves trekking through thorny areas, sitting and kneeling on rocky ground, and having a need to keep many things in my pockets. I have had a VERY difficult time finding pants that are suitable (and comfortable) for women to wear in the field. These pants do the trick. A few specifics: Fabric: the fabric feels water resistant. This does not mean they're water proof, but it certainly will keep a light rain off. It is a heavy material. This is really good for much of my work as I don't feel like thorns will pierce through them and become painful. What this does mean, though, is that they can get quite warm (particularly in tropical weather). This is a trade-off and something you need to consider for what your needs are. Reinforcement: I really like that the knees and the butt are reinforced. I've never added the kneepads (which, according to the description, is easy to do) and have never felt the need to. I really like that I'm able to sit almost anywhere (often on a rock or log) and not have to worry about my pants ripping to create an uncomfortable or embarrassing situation. Pockets: I LOVE that there are so many pockets of different sizes. I find them to be well placed and large enough to hold what I need to make it easily accessible. Fit: I would suggest buying a size larger than you normally wear in other pants. There is a size chart on their website which some might find useful. I normally wear a size 6 or 8 in jeans, though, and bought a size 10, which fits great. Comfort: With the exception of temperature (as mentioned above, these pants can be very warm and not terribly breathe-able depending on the climate you find yourself in), I find these pants to be very comfortable. They are roomy enough and don't rub in any weird areas. Style: Not great. But I'm not in the field to make a fashion statement or be a point of attraction. If you are concerned about style, these might not be for you.

The best tactical pants out there!
These tactical pants were recommended to me when I was a new EMT. I absolutely LOVE them! I will not wear any other brand of tactical pants. There are so many pockets that I was able to hold a stethoscope, a full first aid kit, gloves, masks, pens, a mini notebook, all without feeling dragged down either. The fit is great. Not too tight and sizes are true. The material is water repellant, and does not change with washes. Color is a nice deep blue. I honestly love these pants so much. Very easy to run/move in. Was able to play Just Dance on call.

Too small in the thigh/waist
These are good pants but the sizing is way off. Im 5'4" and the length was good (typically tactical pants are way to long for me) and these were just right. The problem is these are way too tight in the thigh/ waist area so wearing them felt like I could bust out of them. I ordered the next size up so hopefully those will work! I love this brand! Im a security officer and these serve me well (when they're the right size lol)

Shrink after first dry
Giving it a 1 star because this is my wife’s 3rd pair of 511 and they all shrink over 1/2 wash and dries. I stopped drying them through the dryer when I noticed her new pair shrunk after the first dry. It’s a 1 star because of how expensive this brand is. we don’t always have the time to air dry them for a full time EMT. She’s not trying to have 5-6 pairs of pants so she does always wash them after every shift. Since Her first pair she did go up a size since and just needed more mobility in them vs skin tight. These kind of pants for women are always designed like that. They fit amazing the first day she got them and now they’re just as tight as size down. She got 2 at the same time and can’t return them at this point especially bc I did wash them. She’s had 2 different styles. So we’re never getting 511s after these

Durable, functional, yet feminine
If you're reading this review, you are likely an avid Amazon shopper like I am -- I frequently buy items based on the customer reviews. With that said, I hope my review can help in your decision! I ordered these pants for an EMT course I am beginning in two weeks. I have only worn them around the house, but they feel really durable. I like the variety of pockets, especially the quick access back pockets (with the traditional top flap eliminated). They are everything I anticipated. I will provide an updated review regarding their functionality after testing them in the field. Sizing was the biggest question mark for me when ordering these pants. At 6' and 170 lbs., with longer legs that normally need a little extra wiggle room in the thigh and hip region, I am used to ordering a size larger than normal. I originally selected 14 longs, but after trying them on I was surprised to see that they were too big. I exchanged them for 12 longs, and they are still too long! I don't mind cuffing them, however, so I will keep the extra length. These pants seem to be built for a more athletic frame, so if you are of a slight build you may need to get a smaller size. For women with careers that require combat-style pants, these are a great choice -- extremely durable, yet not sacrificing a feminine fit. I even ordered a pair for my sister who is doing the same course with me, because of the quality. I feel like these will last for a very, very long time.
