81 Lessons From The Sky

Lessons From NZ, Australia, and UK
The book had a variety of learning lessons, great for pilots of all experience levels. However, for US buyers. please be aware that navigation locations and aviation terminology will be unfamiliar -- although there is a large, comprehensive glossary in the back of the book.

A must read for pilots and those interested in flying!!
A really good read that is both informative and interesting. I am interested in aviation but not a qualified pilot but still was engrossed in the stories based on the sharing of pilots experiences from a wide range of countries and situations. Well written with a good mix of narrative and technical information without getting bogged down into too much technical detail (which can happen in aviation writing). Definitely recommended to those interested in learning about aviation and flying and I'd say a potential life saver for pilots of all levels of experience. Looking forward to the partner book on Commercial Aviation.

Helpful training tool
Great information for this new pilot. Hearing the war stories from other more experienced flyers will make me a better flyer

Great book!
My 15 year old boy and husband loved this book. Will probably purchase another from the set.

Can be used as a supplementary safety lessons handbook for pilots
A must read for pilots who wants to continually work towards becoming a safer pilot, learning from other pilot’s experience. The book can do with some editing and improved presentation.

A great read for pilots and non-pilots alike
Really enjoyed reading this book. It gave me valuable insights in to the thinking pilots must adopt in order to stay alive. A real eye opener! I would recommend this to anyone, an engrossing read.

On time delivery
Items received within estimated delivery date but there is little damage on the edge of the book. No big deal for me.

Useful but strictly for pilots
Unlike the I Learned About Flying From That books published both in the US and UK, this volume is really strictly for pilots. As such the stories are less well written than those in books published by magazines. That is not to say that this is not a very worthwhile volume, but the standard of writing is very inconsistent and the book could do with thorough attention from an experienced editor. And the author devotes far too much waffle at the beginning and end to himself and a highly unnecessary List of endless people who have influenced his flying career. Who cares?

Honest instructive acounts of general aviation glitches
This is a commendable initiative to encourage GA pilots to share an account of their less successful flights. Some of the accounts are less well-written compared with the usual standard of 'ilafft' e.g. in Pilot magazine, but even so they are worth reading and are very educational.

There is such a lot going on!
I really eyed ready this book. Although it is 30+ years since I last flew so much is familiar and so much has changed meaning its all much more complicated. Today's pilots would do well to remember a plan B is the most useful thing you hope you never have to use!

My flying
At 78years of age and 1500 hours of private flying it has been an interesting read. A couple of the stories are very similar to what I have experienced. I have 450 glider tows ,1200hours on 182s, and 2 forced landings. One of which was in the 182where the front window completely came in on me. The other was in Cherokee 6 where a screw undid inside the prop gearpump and put the prop in untrafine pitch and we landed amongst some cars on a busy highway.
