RS232 Serial Port To TTL Converter Module SP3232 With Dupont Cable

The last time I had ordered these, they had LEDs that showed communications were occurring on the Tx and Rx lines. This time there is only one LED which just turns on solid. Maybe is indicating power state. The order of the connection pins is different, ie. the Tx & Rx lines are swapped which means that the cables I had created will not readily work with these new boards. Lastly, the packaging was not very protective. Several of the boards connection pins were bent. I indicated two stars because the boards do work.

not much to say. comes with the jumper cable which is good. only mistake i made was that this is a female port, which is whats required to connect a PC to the RPI console, but not whats required to connect a legacy serial device and use the Pi's TTL port has a RS232 host port. i ended up making my own cable to use with this and it works good

The board comes with no information and there is not enough in the description. The manufacturer's web site has no information.The description states that the board supports CTS and RTS. If it does, it does so on unlabeled pins.Note: The board loops RX and TX. Not what was expected and reduces it's usefulness.

The cost is certainly reasonable and this little board has been working fine for several months without any problems. Does the job.Two sets of pins makes testing easy during initial set up.It would be nice if it had a mounting hole through the board, but it doesn't, so one star penalty for that.
