Best product I have purchased for my fur child.
Both of my fur babes hind legs have a luxating patella. She has hip dysphasia (both hips) and terrible arthritis. She’s only 8 :(I had been searching for anything and everything to help her and we have tried so many different things but she’s a shiba and she is as shiba as one gets when it comes to trying new things. Put these on her as soon as I received them and though she HATED every minute of it and almost had to be muzzled to put them on tight enough, once they were on and she started walking... faster and faster till she was running.. FAST! I started crying those proud dog mom years and when we came inside she jumped onto the couch!!! She hasn’t jumped that high in a couple years! This was the FIRST TIME we put them on!!Needless to say I’ll prob buy a few pairs just to have on hand.As for the product itself, the metal springs need to be fully sewed in. They are constantly popping out the top side and defeats the purpose. Other than that I just wish it had maybe a longer Velcro to wrap fully around or a different method completely. A zipper would be nice. The Velcro just makes it hard to keep tight while also pulling both sides closed. Maybe it’s the way a shiba is built but if I don’t tighten them enough they slide down and I continuously have to fix them. When I purchase more I may try a different brand but at least I know these work!Definitely recommend for any pet parent who has a child struggling to walk. It’s worth the try even if it’s due to a different condition. I cried watching my dog the first time in these and I continue to tear up when I see her being so active again.

Sizing is tricky and no wire in XS
We ordered small originally. It just couldn't be tightened enough. So we ordered the XS and they fit great, but they don't have the wire like the other sizes. Quality seems good. All the stitching is doubled around the edges. The velcro straps are reflective, which is great if your dog is out at night.

Received Used, Hair Covered Brace
The media could not be loaded. This evening I opened my Amazon package to find an unpleasant surprise- one new brace and one that had obviously been returned. I’ll be honest, I was so creeped out at receiving a used, dirty, dusty, hairy brace that I started writing this review before I even tried it on my dog. I’m not easily grossed out but there is something repellent about another dog’s dust, dander and hair on something I just ordered.I did want to find out if my dog would wear them so I put the unused one on him. He refuses to walk with the brace on so I suppose it’s a no-go for us new and/or used. It went on easily and fit him just fine. I’m not sure how long the Velcro would last, honestly, but other than that it seems fine.

UNFORTUNATELY...I Have to Give One Star
I hate having to give one star because the product was working so well for a while. My older dog was having rear leg issues and was unsteady so I decided to use this product to give him some more support. It worked great and he was able to be more mobile but much later started limping. I took the braces off and the spring had poked through one of the braces and had dug into one of his legs! This is very disappointing because this product idea is great for an ailing or elderly dog but the design flaw makes it not worth the risk. If you use this product I HIGHLY suggest that you make sure that the spring is not poking through the brace because it can cause injury to your pet. I feel very terrible about this, but I was truly interested in helping him be able to move around better and wanted to do whatever I could to help.

Such a small thing that helps in a big way.
My special guy is 15 years old now, he is a mixed breed(pomerian poodle) dog about 20 pounds with shorter legs ). He has arthritis and back trouble due to having had lyme when he was a pup so he is an in the house dog and does not go on walks. He had times when he has had trouble jumping onto the couch and walking up or down the 2 steps I have and of course this has gotten worse over the years to the point where he was now falling, losing balance with his rear legs slipping out from under him. Recently the right back leg has gotten worse where he has lost muscle tone, has pain in his thigh leg and wouldn't put his foot down. When he couldn't put his foot down I knew I had to do something immediately. I did some research and found out that these braces could be helpful. I was very skeptical, something so small?. I ordered from AMAZON and got it so FAST!! I purchased the SMALL size and they fit perfectly. He can walk, go down the steps to go outside to the potty, stand to eat and has gotten used to wearing them everyday. Of course you take them off at night. It has made a tremendous difference in my dogs quality of life. Before using the braces we had to carry him in and out and he could barely stand to go potty or eat. He's not going to jump on the couch anymore, but he is doing everything else. I recommend for anyone who is skeptical like I was to give it a try. Customer service was very helpful.

Helps for arthritis
My 11 year old Pitt mix loves evening walks in the woods, but due to arthritis he reached a point where he was stopping every 2-3 minutes for a leg rub or for my husband to carry him (which isn't a great option since he's almost 70 pounds). These leg braces are not a perfect cure but they have helped immensely! He walks more confidently as soon as we put them on and stops less often. We've found that even though he only has 1 bad leg he needs both braces on to really see the benefits, and needs the spring inserts left inside as well. Occasionally he can even run with these when he feels up to it! I wasn't sure if he would need the long or short legged version but after trying them on he's definitely a short. I don't understand exactly how these help because as other reviewers have said they don't reach the knees, but I'm just glad they do! They are so so worth the price to see him enjoying activities again.
