Wonderfull for making mole my way
I was intimidated by making mole at first but I felt capable of cooking some when s friend recommended me this label for how easy it is to prepare. Once you learn how to mix it with liquid it is easy to play around. I made simple enchiladas with corn tortillas filled with sautéed spinach and dates. The combination of spicy sauce with cacao and sweetness of dates is amazing. You can use sugars you like the most. I love dates, figs and honey. I was planning to take and submit photo but...enchiladas were devoured! Will make them again I promise!

Delicious and authentic
This is delicious, by far the best of any of the many packaged sauces in my search. Having made mole from scratch over the course of three days, it is a delightful relief to find an authentic substitute, especially with the holidays coming up. I’m really grateful.

Bitter. Vague Instructions.
This Mole kit comes all-in-one - the chocolate is found wrapped inside of the bag nestling in the spices. It is a bit messy retrieving the chocolate from the bag.The bag instructions read like my scratch cook instruction: break off a bit of chocolate, let melt, stir in spices to release flavor, add broth or water, add more chocolate as desired. Ok. Got that? Yep, me too. I read other reviews to try to figure out what to do with this kit. Most review warned not to use all of the chocolate and one said to not use the entire bag (chocolate & spices).I ended up melting less than 1/2 of the chocolate and 1/2 of the spices along with broth. The consistency was very good, but the flavor was bitter (too much chocolate?). No matter what I tried, I couldn't cut the bitterness. I think the spices are good - they produce a semi-spicy mole. The chocolate is just too bitter and, to me, really downgrades the product.

I like mole sauce
and the spicy chocolate is great with so many proteins and starches. A good, spicy mole will want you wanting more. Keep in mind, though, that one serving has over 400 calories and a day's worth of carbs. It is worth them for the taste experience

Not really like Oaxaca
Before trying this product, I actually went to Oaxaca and tried the mole there (and it was amazing!) There are 7 most common moles local to Oaxaca, but this product never tells you what kind it is. So it was a surprise as to whether we were getting Coloradito, Rojo, or Negro...or something else altogether. There was the slightest spiciness that made me initially think the mole resembled Coloradito, but the overall taste was more like mole poblano - which is actually a mole from Puebla, not Oaxaca. If you really like mole poblano, this would be a good package for you, but that's my least favorite of all moles, so I didn't really enjoy the taste. Also, try not to make it with the entire chocolate tablet, because it made the sauce really bitter - I had to add sugar to make it taste ok.The product comes packaged very nice, and is resealable in case you only want to make a little mole at a time. You sort of just have to guess at how much chocolate/powder/liquid to add to your pot because there aren't any recommendations for proportions on the packaging. This is something I wouldn't buy again, but this is mostly because I didn't really like the taste, but I also think at the current price, it's more worthwhile to try and make this on your own as the ingredients will be a lot cheaper at the supermarket, and you can create the type of mole that you prefer.***Pros :)- easy to make- good packaging- simple ingredients (everything included except broth, or you could just use water)***Cons :(- Tastes more like mole poblano than one of the iconic Oaxaca moles- Adding the whole chocolate tablet made the mole too bitter- Needs some recommendations for proportions on the packaging somewhere

Really good & adjustable to your personal taste
Since this has 2 parts I will adjust the next time I make it. It was very good the first time I made it. You will be able to adjust to your personal preference. I've never liked jar mole sauces that much. Will definitely be buying again.

Ethically sourced and equally tasty!
What a delight to find this product on Amazon. The artisanal makers clearly worked hard on their sourcing and the recipes worked fine. I'll be re-ordering!
