Langenscheidt Pocket Dictionary Mandarin Chinese: Chinese-English / English-Chinese Bilingual Edition

I’ve been studying Chinese via duolingo. I wanted a dictionary to help me look up words I don’t know or don’t remember while completing lessons. I’ve found using this dictionary easier than using a translation app (and no flipping between apps on the phone). It’s also fun to leaf through the book and look up random words.August 2023 update:This book has been a very useful tool in my Chinese language learning adventure. I highly recommend it.

i've had this before, i'm just buying it again because of YEARS of use caused the pages to fall out.i'm not gentle with my books. so the fact that it lasted as long as it did is surprising to say the least. i recommend for anyone learningmy only real complaint is with the company that makes the book. must they be like barron's in that they MUST BE YELLOW?! -_- sheesh i liked the dark blue better. but can't say anything. it's still a perfect book

It's a fine dictionary, but I need a dictionary that has Traditional characters for each entry. This one occasionally has Traditional characters in brackets, but not for every entry that has both a Simplified and Traditional character, only some, which makes it incomplete.

This is my first China book it looks good its fun to read to your friends.I figured to take my mind off learning espanol I would learn this one since its different enough not to be confusing.

Just ok for its price. Not a full dictionary.

as a pocket dictionary, is a great tool for beginner like me, that are starting to learn this language. I was a little concerned about how would it be, but the pinyin and translations are great. as I always say, you can never go wrong with Langenscheidt :)

My Chinese friend and I are both quite please with this dictionary! It has almost every word I've ever looked up, which rates it way above my digital dictionary apps, much more thorough! She and I were much more able to communicate today than ever before. (Thanks, Lord!)

I purchased this book for my daughters third language in school. It has mostly all words required for school level. It has both chinese to english and english to chinese words.

The best small Mandarin dictionary I have come across. I rarely come across a word in my reading that isn't in this dictionary - and its small size means that it's easy to take on holiday.

Ein kleines Wörterbuch... Es ist nicht ganz das, was ich mir vorgestellt habe... Die Qualität ist durchschnittlich, aber es ist ziemlich klein und niedlich. Aber das Vokabular ist nicht umfassend
