Treasure trove of information
Worth every penny. This book is a treasure trove of information, wether your just starting out on your embroidery journey, or you have been doing it most of your life, this book is a must have. It is put together very well, thick pages with a stitched binding and in the back of the book is a pocket with full size patterns for the inclulded projects in the book. I can't wait to make several of the projects in tihs book. I can't even begin to describe how well written this book is. The flowers in tihs book are true to life, they look just like they should. I am so glad I bought it. Thank you Lorna Bateman for a fantastic How to embroider. Very grateful Tracy

More than Just Gardens
I originally was introduced to Lorna Bateman's work through pictures online. I was thrilled to find out she sold a book with patterns, and I bought it immediately! The patterns and projects ae even better than I expected! Not only did she include ready-made patterns, she included the motifs to create your own!! There are individual pictures of patterns for each plant and ideas of how to put them together to form your own garden. Speaking of knowledge! I came to this book expecting to find beautiful patterns and a few new stitches. There is so much more! Ms. Bateman's love of embroidery and desire to teach seeps through the very first page to the last. She begins with a list of supplies, like most, but she includes why a stitcher would need each one and alternatives if necessary. She details how to prep fabric, choose needles, transfer a pattern, and begin and end stitching with a great amount of detail. I learned so much from this book. I am self-taught from other internet sources, and this book presents information that makes me feel so much more prepared to have an excellent quality of work in every project I do. I highly recommend this book to every embroiderer, even if only for the information. Her book contains a class worth of knowledge, and beautiful gardens!

Great resource for any embroider!
This book shows the stitches and how to do all kinds of different ones but also has illustrations and pictures. I’ve just started going through it, but I am amazed and delighted at all it offers. So pretty and packed full of answers to questions I haven’t even know to ask yet!

Very goid
This book is excellent. Beautiful in appearance making it enjoyable to use. And there are actual ideas and instructions for embroidery projects. And when I first glanced at it I thought that I. Could never embroider that beautifully. But after looking at the techniques presented I now know I can with practice. I would not call this a beginners book. It’s more confident beginner with some experience to intermediate level. I highly recommend the book.

By far the most useful embroidery book I've found to date. If you are looking for easy to follow instructions for embroidering English style country gardens, look no further. Not quite prfect
The book had beautiful stitches and pictures. However, the author needed to explain the procedures better. I would go on YouTube or Pinterest to understand the procedure better.

Wonderful book, clear directions, inspirational design ideas
I am a total beginner in terms of embroidery and was worried this book would be too advanced for me. However, the author begins with enough details on the basics, both in terms of what materials and tools are needed and the "how to" for each stitch used to create the floral designs, that I was able to replicate the stitches described and get started on my first project. The flower garden designs are so full of character, and there are patterns and descriptions for how to create each type of flower. Putting different elements together and designing your own garden is also discussed. I can see many sewers of different skill levels using this book. I'm glad I purchased this.
