Great for studying NCC and CC for recert and initial cert.
Detail oriented questions with very good corresponding explanations. Chapters were well thought out in relation to board topics.

Concise, good quality textbook.
It is an honor to be the first one leaving a few comments about this book. First, congrats to Dr. Wijdicks for this fantastic book. I just received my copy and, for now, I can only say it is a good quality book with concise chapters, good diagrams and pictures (in color), I liked the sections with questionst/answers. Each chapter begins with clear objectives and with useful clinical information. For sure, I will enjoy this book a lot. I would recommend this book to any colleague.

Simply A MUST HAVE !!!!
One of the most fantastic books in critical care. Topics are very relevant and concise. Definitely a must for any resident training in critical care and any examiner in this medical field!!!!

Not focused on critical care topics
I am unclear who the target audience is. I purchased this book expecting to supplement my learning as a critical care fellow. However, the content is NOT focused on critical care. The vast majority of the chapters are dedicated to general medical and neurological diseases that you see in the ICU, but it does not account for what you actually do in the ICU setting. Most chapters are shallow, unrelated to ICU, and only give medical student level knowledge on each disease process, something you can find in other non-ICU textbooks. More importantly, info on some important topics in the ICU are either completely missing or very limited (such as ventilator-associated pneumonia, bloodstream infection, fluid therapy, ICU acquired weakness, rehabilitation, delirium, choice of sedative, liberation from MV, and list continues...). Sepsis is covered by only 6 pages. I would not consider this as a Board Review for critical care trainee by any means. I give two stars instead of one because otherwise the content is nicely organized with good visual aids. I returned because I couldn’t find any utility for my intended purpose.

Spotty online access
About 50% of the time I tried to used the online access it failed. Contacted customer service at Oxford Medicine a few times and they said to clear my web browser cookies each time I try to log in, but this doesn't usually work. They said the system has glitches and said sorry, it is what it is. Don't purchase this book if you expect to have online access. The book itself is decent, but like most multi-author books some chapters are useless while others are excellent.
